Woke up quite late this morning (about 8am) so jumped in the shower so that I was fresh and awake rather than slumming around all morning until I have my shower.
Took mum to the hospital for her CT Scan to check on her bowels where the cancer was. Fingers crossed everything will be okay and there will be no change since her last one. I dropped her off at the doors then drove around for about 30 miunutes trying to find somewhere to park. In the end I had to park at the football stadium and walk back to the hospital. They really need to build a multi-story car park at the hospital as there is never anywhere near enough spaces. This will ease all the parking congestion on the surrounding streets too and stop neighbours no being able to park in front of their own houses.
I took Bell for a walk before I went and noticed she has blood in her wee again :-( She has had this before and it was a water infection so they gave her tablets. I don't think she drinks enough water either which won't help.
I am working my way through lots of work stuff that has dropped off a bit in the past so that I can be the best version of myself in my job possible. When you are organised and not trying to juggle lots of tasks it really makes everything seem easier and I am enjoying my work again.
I've sorted out a report in Salesforce so we can see the last activity on our accounts which then lets us know where we have to focus our efforts to try and reactivate some of the lapsed accounts. I'm going to sort out some more reports too so I can see how many active accounts we have in each of our areas. It's always easier to monitor your progress when you have some kind of measure, otherwise, you are just working blind and have no idea of how good or bad your business is doing. I like to be able to see progress and nothing gives me a bigger buzz than to convert a lead or an old account to an active account.
Sorted out to feed my Virgin Credit Card transactions into QuickBooks as I use that quite a lot for booking hotels or paying for stuff when I haven't got the funds in my business account. It should make it easier to not miss some of the business expenses I pay for with my card.
I am OBSESSED with these Twinings cold infuse tea bags for my water bottle. I've had the strawberry and watermelon and I'm ordering the other flavours next. Nice and natural and no sugar and is made with all-natural ingredients, but just makes drinking water more interesting. Check them out HERE
I don't drink anywhere near enough water so these are really helping me increase my intake. I am already noticing a difference in. my skin with not drinking alcohol and increasing my water consumption so I might look about 35 next time you see me lol. They do different flavours to stop you from getting bored so I have already got my eye on a pack of 3 flavours. Much cheaper than buying a costa coffee in the morning and better for me.
It's still less than a month of going alcohol-free but I am loving how I am feeling already. As well as not having the brain fog and feeling depressed for days after a night out I think it's also the fact that I feel I have taken control of my life and I am not leaving my decision-making to a drunk version of myself on nights out and hen having to deal with the fall out the next day or over the next few days where my mental health is concerned.
Spent some of the early evening getting emails out to accounts that we haven't dealt with for a while so that they know our current list of suppliers. Even if myself and Rachel get a handful of re-activated accounts each it will be worth it. I get a buzz thought when I can see our Customer database getting updated to be more efficient. Just removing closed accounts from the system stops us from wasting time trying to contact accounts that no longer exist. I think the knock-on effect of getting all these things organised is that I am sleeping better because my mind is not racing with all the things I should be dealing with. Instead they re getting done :-)
