That's one of the questions I was asked about my blog recently. "How many people read it?". "Oh I couldn't be arsed, why do you bother if loads don't read it" My answer was quite simple. It's not for other people it's for me. I really don't look at how many people read each post or worry about if people do or don't read my blog. I can't imagine it's very interesting for most people. I do it more as a journal for myself to a) be able to look back and remember things that have already started to fade from memory (I have a shocking memory) and b) I use it as a kind of therapy to unpack the day and process how I feel about things. If someone reads it and takes something away from one of my posts, great. But I'm not doing it to become some internet sensation or well-known blogger etc. Most days I forget to even post my block on Facebook I just hit publish and forget about it lol. As you can probably tell I rarely even read it back, my mum always reminds me of the mistakes in it and says I should read it back, but I kinda look at it like this. Would you read someone's diary and go through it with a red pen underlining grammar and spelling mistakes? I write as I think and don't proofread it back for intellectual content as by the time I have got to the end I've forgotten most of what I wrote and am already thinking of the next thing I need to be doing. If I proofread each post. I would probably never hit publish on any of them, as I rarely provide a "takeaway nugget" or pearl of wisdom lol.
Anyway back to the humdrum that is my life :-)
I woke up really knackered this morning and ended up going back to bed and sacking off yoga. Not a great start to the week considering we wanted to complete a 30-day challenge again (me and Layla) before we go to Turkey. But I think I am still playing catch-up from the late night on Saturday. I always say that sleep is like a bank account and if you go overdrawn with late nights, at some point you need to pay it back. So you might as well do it sooner rather than later or you end up so far overdrawn you get a letter from the bank manager saying that can't extend your overdraft any further and you crash and burn. Or in my case get a cold sore in the corner of my mouth, which is always my equivalent of the bank manager's letter. Funnily enough, I no longer see these as the bain of my life. Firstly because I am not going out looking to date so don't need to worry about a cracked lip or cold sore, as I ain't gonna be kissing anyone. Secondly, I see it as my body giving me the heads up that I need to look after myself and get enough rest and self-care etc. Some people process stress internally and that can lead to all kinds of illnesses. I'm lucky in that my stress or being run down tends to manifest externally so I am perfectly aware of when I need to recharge the batteries.
My morning appointment was at Newbank Garden Centre in Royton which is literally round the corner. It makes a change to have a customer close by and not have to drive miles to go see them. Hopefully, they will be a good customer as they already want to top up on their Ziggle baby gifts. They also have another 3 stores in our territory. One is Rachels and another two are in my area.
Did a very short market research with Kirsty and my good friend Julie, so I don't see nearly enough. But when I do I really enjoy her company., she is so naturally funny. Sadly though, a lot of her humour is self-deprecating and I worry that she is always too hard on herself. She is so attractive but doesn't see it and always points out her own faults. you don't need to do that to yourself when so many other people are ready to do that for you. You should be your own cheerleader and appreciate your positive points.
Kirsty made us both the nicest roast chicken dinner while I just played on the PS4. I wanted to help but she insisted I just chill as she liked being in the kitchen and has her own way of doing things so other people just get in the way.
My contribution was waffles for dessert ;-) Kirsty just had a plain one but I went all out for peanut butter, Nutella, clotted cream ice cream, and squirty cream. Why do I not have a summer body? I wonder lol. Better to croak it choking on a cream cake than a piece of tasteless lettuce eh ;-)
Oh here's a little useful nugget for today. I recently bought a hard plastic business card that you can add all your socials to, email address, pic etc and instead of handing out paper cards at network events or when you meet someone (I usually forget to have cards on me). You just tap the car on their phone and BAMM!!! It opens a link for them to add you to their phone with all your details. And it was only £20. Game Changer!
So if you use business cards, maybe check these out! No more reprinting 100's of cards to hand out only for the to end up in the bin. Your details are in their phone in one tap and a click.
Check them out HERE
You're welcome ;-)
