I know that your general weight is one thing, but you should not get too fixated by just the number on the scales. Sometimes I find it really demotivating when I feel I have stuck to my daily calorie allowance, trained several times, gone for a jog, yet I haven't moved on the scales. So I decided to purchase some scales that Liam (from Family Fit) had recommended that take lots of different readings as well as your weight, so they can give you lots of info about your body composition.
These are the scales and I LOVE them already. They have an LED digital display that's easy to see rather than one of those displays that black text on a grey screen.
At the time of writing this they are onlay £16.99 and much better than the flakey ones I had that gave a different weight each time you stepped on , within minutes of each other.
If you fancy a set you can get them HERE
The scales link up to your phone and you need to download the Fitdays app from the app store and then sync your phone via blutooth to the app.
This is the information you get after you have weighed yourself, which gives a much more detailed report of your stats, rather than just one number.
Everything in red is obviously BAD but it also shows you the % of visceral fat which I think is the most dangerous as it's around your organs. It shows your muscle mass and body water etc. You can click the drop-down next to each of the readings to get more info. As you can see by my stats at the time of writing this, I still have a long way to go. I like this level of details though because if my weight stays the same but my stats are improving with more muscles mass and less fat then I won't feel as bad. A good example of why just looking at the one number isn't good is the example below of two pics of the same guy weighing the same weight in both pics. If he only looked at the scales he could feel rubbish, but the difference in body composition is a totally different.
I am going to upload my stats once a month so I have something to measure my progress by. Hopefully each month I will be going in the right direction :-/
