Wandsworth - Day 3 - Walking Wednesday

Updated: Jan 11, 2023

Had a great night's sleep after a long day of walking yesterday. Jupiter kept me company and slept with me, bless her she is so cute. Layla woke me up with the most amazing breakfast, not your typical bit of toast like I would have made, that's for sure. all my favourite things, fruit, sweet stuff and even vegan ice cream.

Straight after breakfast, it was shower time and then we all jumped into the car to head over to Seaford. Layla wants to try and make sure I get to see some of the lovely places nearby and not just the inside of a pub, so we made the decision that we weren't going to go to any bars or anything during my stay as we can do all that in the winter when the weather is rubbish. Plus you end up hun over and don't feel like doing anything the next day and waste days then. The first part of the trek was up the path you can see on the first picture to get us to the first cliff edge. We took it easy as my cricked ankle (Crankle) still wasnt right and I didn't want to undo and repair that had already been done.

Once we got to the top we had a quick photo opportunity and little snacklet and a drink. Then it was onward to the furthest cliffs.

This next part was on the flat so an easy walk and it wasn't really that busy with people so we could let Jupiter off the lead every now and then until we saw people coming with dogs.

There was a lovely bench at the end of the walk with different memorial plaques on and someone had tied some lavender to it. We had a sit-down and a rest for a bit before heading back, but it felt so peaceful looking out over the water to the cliffs.

On the way back we found a path made from loose shells that someone must have started to make. Layla loves shells and could have spent all day looking through them I'm sure. It felt a bit bad walking on the path as you could hear the shells crunching beneath your feet.

Next we headed down to where the beach huts and the car were and had a little walk down to the sea.

It was a pebble beach so not really one for sunbathing but it was lovely just listening to the waves come in and out. So relaxing.

A few quick pics and then it was time to head home. Great day and we were all goosed when we got back. We decided to fit Richmond Park into Friday with the Lido and have a chilled day tomorrow instead to give me crankle a rest :-)
