Vienna - Day 4 Homeward Bound

*** 30 Day Photo Challenge ***

Day 18 - Something that makes you smile

What else could it be but my beautiful girls.

Another restless night. If you are planning to stay at the Radisson Blue I would definitely recommend taking your own feather pillow as it really does make a difference to the quality of your stay. Very disappointed to be honest as I would have expected a bit more comfort from the Raddison Blue, the bed is rock hard and the pillows are like cheap foam ones. We did ask if they had any other pillows after our first sleepless night, but sadly they didn't. They did manage to sort a fan for Alexa and Fi'sroom as the Aircon isn't the best and if you open the window you have all the street traffic noise all night. In the end, I just opened the window so I had a draft and wore earplugs (worth packing some of those too).

It was a lovely clear day and the sun was out. Part of me is actually glad it wasn't hot thought while we've been here as it doesn't make sightseeing much fun. We fell lucky really cos even though it was overcast it has still stayed dry. I don't know how keen we would have been on schlepping around the city in the blistering heat.

Even though it was a short trip I do feel like we packed in a lot and saw most of the things that we wanted to see. Sometimes on shorter trips you waste as much time on 'nothing' days and fit it lots more. I think when you come for longer you keep saying "shall we do that tomorrow?" but when you know you only have a few days you try and make sure they all count. I definitely had the right travel buddies too as the 3 of us tend to like the same things so there is never really any conflict over what we want to do each day.

We had a nice hearty breakfast at the hotel to fill us up for lunchtime. None of us have really gone for a fry-up type of breakfast and have instead opted for the more continental offering of a bread roll with meats and cheese on. or Yoghurt, fruit, and honey for Fi, scrambled eggs for Lex. The coffee was freshly ground beans so sets you up for the day too.

Managed to get an Uber to the airport within 5 minutes. It's probably a good ride for them as they are being paid to drive to the airport and can most likely pick a fair up at the airport. That's kinda what I thought would have happened on the way here, rather than the Uber with Attitude (Ubertude). If I get the chance I am going to complain to Uber about the lovely Fatih and his amazing customer service skills. It was only €45 this time so much cheaper than the airport taxis. Despite telling the driver which airline we were flying with he took us to Terminal 3 when we found out when we got there that they fly from Terminal 1. Luckily it wasn't that long a walk.

We had some of the same crew on the return flight, as I recognised the guy that Alexa told had lovely blue eyes on the way out and asked where he was from etc. We had a very good-looking Italian pilot too. I might ask if I can see his Cock, pit lol.

The flight boarded on time and by the time we had taken off, had a drink and a panini (and a little nap lol) we were on our way back down.

The border control in the UK took longer than normal but nothing horrendous considering all the bad press Manchester Airport has been getting. Once through we jumped on the Carlton Hotel courtesy bus, then into Fi's car and we were then back at Alexa and Fi's. A quick hello to Rosie and then I was back on the road to get home. I didn't even bother unpacking as I just wanted to chill, so watch a bit of telly then bed. It was bliss to be home to a feather pillow again and I will defo be changing my guest room duvet and pillow to feather, having experienced how unpleasant foam ones are. So I defo don't want my guest to have a bad night's sleep.

I logged onto my small claims account since Ash has made no attempt to pay anything off nor kept me updated. The deadline was today so I have requested the court issue a CCJ against him. I have always wanted to avoid this as I know it will affect his credit score and ability to get loads etc, but he clearly isn't making any attempt to play fair so I have been left with no choice. I always specified immediate payment, so once it has been issued I will pass this to debt collectors to enforce the debt and send bailiffs (if that's what happens). I could really do without this stress only a couple of days before my 50th as I am now fretting over funds to pay for my party on the 20th. GGRRRRRrrr.
