Woke up at 7am but snoozed my alarm a few times as I just didn't want to get up. At least drunk Neil remembered to set the alarm. Eventually got up at 9am giving myself two hours to pack. I had done some of it already yesterday so it was only the final things to do.
I had pretty much just got done when my taxi pulled up outside. It felt weird not having a proper big case going on holiday. I've only ever taken cabin baggage before on a short city break. I won't really need much in the way of clothing anyway because we are diving for 3 of the days only really the nights to worry about so I packed Tshirts for that and I've got Vests for during the day. I'm guessing we will be literally from the hotel to the scuba center and then into a wetsuit anyway.
Had Chatty Zaffi the taxi man who insisted on telling me every taxi story he's ever been involved in all the way to the airport, Jeeze man take a breath. Anyway, he drove as fast as he talked so he got me there in plenty of time. By the time I got there I still had 2 hours left so no big rush. I also booked a fast track ticket about an hour before I set off and I am SO glad I did. It was only £5 I literally waltzed through security in 10 minutes (no doing an actual waltz) but I would have if I'd seen how long I could have been queuing as the queue was massive and filled with lots of angry pissed-off faces lol.
When I got through I treated myself to a little Wagamamas Katsu Chicken and a cheeky cider. I have been craving wagga's for ages so it was the perfect start to my trip.
Straight after food, I got myself a book to read on the flight, and while I'm waiting for Layla at the other end as her flight gets in an hour after mine.
The flight with Jet2 was due to depart at 2:20pm and literally at 2:21pm we were pushing off from the stand. Now that's service for you. Read my book through most of the flight and had the odd nap. Landed in lanzarote and passport for trip was pretty quick they had the automatic machines which do some reason people struggle with which was round to insert their passport. No love the need to see you picture not the outside of you passport as everybody's would be the same then wouldn't it!
Went through I tot he arrivals Hal and by the time I had updated the first part of this blog and read a bit Layla had landed and was coming through.
