Time For Change

Updated: Sep 10, 2023

Oaky so I haven't done a blog post for ages since I stopped doing it daily (too much pressure lol). I did want to do one though to document my new mission so that I can look back (hopefully) when I have made a lot of small changes that have had a big impact on my health and wellbeing. I have broken the back of the whole no alcohol thing and that is no longer something I feel that I have to focus on. So now it's time to focus on being fitter and healthier. I probably weigh the heaviest I have ever been and I am definitely unfit and can get out of breath doing activities that aren't really that challenging. So it's time to make a change!

I am not the best at going to a gym and working out, in fact, I have lost count of the number of gym memberships I have had over the years where I have ended up committing to a year's membership only to give it up after a few visits but still have to pay for it. So this time I thought there was no point joining one until I had managed to get a grip on the basics. Number one is my diet. I made the conscious decision over a week ago that I was going to make my health a priority and the same switch that made me decide to not drink alcohol is the same one that clicked the other week.

So I am going to document my journey and struggles (cos I am sure it won't be a cakewalk), ooh cake I do love cake lol. If I try any low fat, low carb, low guilt meal ideas that I see on Tiktok or Instagram etc I will maybe post pics but put the recipe on a separate post. That way I am able to look back for food ideas when I am short of inspiration. Plus it means people don't have to read all my drivel if they are just looking for food inspiration lol.

I found an idea on Instagram for no-carb wraps so thought I would give them a try. I had some salad in a small tupperware that I made yesterday so had that in the wrap with king prawns. Full recipe HERE

Bella had been at my mums today so I hadn't taken her out for her morning walk, but I did take her for a longer when once the sun went down and it was cooler. We went down to the fields and bumped into my neighbour Dawn so had some company on the walk. I just love a nice sky at night when all the colours start to come out and fill the sky with reds and oranges. We so often take nature and things like a sunset or sunrise for granted as most of the time we have our heads buried in our phones. I purposely keep my phone in my pocket now when I take Bella for a walk and only take it out to take a pic so I am present and can appreciate the world around me.

Just before I hit the hay I managed to hit my 10,000 steps for the day, so I am hoping that I should be able to achieve it daily if I keep active.
