The Tavern on Tour Part 6

As well as being Bonfire Night, Tonight was our 6th Tavern on Tour Event and I spent all day wondering if my Amazon delivery was going to arrive. I'd ordered stuff on Thursday for delivery Friday but the card details they had on file were for an expired card. They only got in touch yesterday to say about the problem with the payment so it was rescheduled to today.

One of the Taverners coming to the do called Joanne met at mine so she could come in the taxi with us and didn't have to walk into the venue on her own.

We'd ordered a minibus for 6pm and it didn't arrive until bloody 6:25pm so that stressed me out as I wanted to get there early to be ready for when people started arriving. By the time we got there (via the wrong revolution bar) there were already some members there. Luckily Steph, Adam and Justin had got there before us and had checked people in etc. Poor Steph didn't feel well but still made the effort to come down. She finished checking most of the taverners in and then got herself off home bless her.

The night was busy and everyone seemed to have a good time. The room was smaller than I expected and it was a bit of a mission to get a microphone from the venue so we could do the raffle but they eventually found us one.

These events are always quite stressful for me on the night as I want to make sure everything goes smoothly and people have a good time. I probably only start to enjoy the night after the raffle has been done and it's the latter part of the night. By that time I am a good few drinks behind everyone else so playing catch up.

It's always so nice to see Taverners coming together for an event, especially when you hear someone coming for their first event and they end up having a good night. We have a really great bunch of people in the tavern and they all help make newcomers feel welcome when they arrive. Nobody is ever alone for long.
