The Missing Week

Okay, so I vowed I was going to do a daily blog for a whole year and do my best not to miss a day. However, I have. been ill for the past god knows how long and really not doing very much at all every day. Each day had just blurred into the other and I haven't really had much to blog about so didn't see the point in creating a week's worth of posts with nothing on them just to try and catch up. So I thought I would just summarise the missing week in one blog post rather than put myself under pressure to catch up on a week of posts for days I can barely remember.

Like almost everyone I speak to at the moment I've had flu-like symptoms for probably two/three weeks and just when you start to feel you are turning a corner, suddenly you wake up feeling like you have gone back to day 1 again.

Went out for a few drinks on Christmas Eve, Eve with Jay and the lads from work. Started off in The Lowerhouse and then me, Jay and Bennett went up to The Highfield as it was on the way home. Jay left me and Bennett to it at bout 9:30pm. Woke up Christmas Eve regretting going out. Not because I was hungover because I felt fine on that front, but my Kidneys were back to being painful again and my flu symptoms were back with a vengeance. I decided no matter what the invite I was going to try and just stay home as much as possible and keep warm and not bother going out.

Christmas Day we had a lovely Turkey Dinner that me and Kirsty prepared as mum was also ill. The turkey wasn't dry and the veg was cooked to perfection including garlic and rosemary roast potatoes. I love a Sunday dinner at the best of times but Christmas dinner is always extra nice.

After Christmas, it was another couple of quiet days and then went up to Andy and Becky's on the 27th for food with Darren Harper and his wife Devi who are both lovely. 28th we were meant to go to Hebden Bridge with Adele and Mike and Carli and Adam but Adele canceled as wasn't feeling up to it and the last thing I wanted to do was be outside in the cold so we agreed to reschedule until The New Year.

29th was meant to go to see Jean and Morris with Eddie but woke up feeling rotten again and didn't want to pass it on to Jean or Morris so told them I couldn't make it.

I was meant to go to Heyside Cricket club for New Years Eve with Nicky but she has to work so Steph is gonna use her ticket. I really don't feel up to it so gonna see if someone will buy mine and then I've not lost out. I will only feel worse the day after but I really don't wanna go into The New Year with this thing lingering. I would rather miss a night out and feel refreshed the next day than set myself back again.
