Today was a momentous day in history. I am not a big Royalist as it goes but it is a huge moment that will be remembered for a long time. We are getting our new monarch King Charles III. There was a lot of negativity surrounding the whole day with people complaining about how much it is going to cost the taxpayer etc. However, I am sure that I saw something debunking that theory as it was going to generate much more in tourism than it would cost etc. Either way I don't see the point in getting wound up about it, the event is happening and it is what it is.
I had quite a busy day as I wanted to give Bella a trim and bath her with the sensitive skin soap I go from Cinnamon Aitch. I'm no professional groomer but I just needed to take some of the thickness off so she wasn't so warm. It seems to really calm her skin down and I am beginning to think that her itching isn't food related and is actually environmental. She has been on different foods all her life and has not been itchy, I have eliminated everything and had her on just fish and potatoes and it still didn't work.
I finished book number 8 and have already started Book 9 (The Help) and I have 2 more to take on holiday with me so I don't run out of stuff to read. It's funny how I am enjoying reading again after such a long gap.
You can find all the books I have read so far plus all the recommendations I have been sent, in my Amazon Book Club HERE
I took my new shower gel for a test drive as it finally arrived today. I am going to take it on holiday as it is a 6 in 1 and can be used all over and is for sensitive skin and moisturising. It left my skin pretty soft after the first go so here' hoping. I love product testing because not only do you get free stuff but you get to try things you might not have tried before. Oh it has a nice fragrance too.
The next thing to try was my new Juicer! I am going to start trying to drink celery juice regularly as I have heard lots of health benefits from drinking it. It was really easy to assemble, very quiet running and also easy to dismantle and clean. It very compact so doesn't take up loads of space on the worktop which is a bonus.
Not going to lie the juice is an acquired taste but I am going to give it a try and maybe add some fruit to it next time I have it.
Next, it was time to go up to Andy & Becky's for high tea as part of their Kings Coronation celebration. Never made a lovely fruit Union Jack and homemade scones to have with Jam and cream. Becky made lots of sandwiches and hot nibbles and Becky's mum made two different quiches. Apparently coronation chicken was the queen's coronation dish and quiche has been King Charles's dish of choice. I never knew that lol.
I took up a bottle of 0% alcohol wine with me so that I felt like I was involved and not be boring. The more I go to social occasions not drinking the more it makes me aware that I don't need a drink to be stupid/chatty, fun. It was a really good afternoon and the bonus was I could just drive home afterward. Here is a short video of the highlights.
