Today is the last Friday of 2022 and I have to admit I will be glad to see the back of 2022 and let's hope 2023 is a better year for everyone. This Christmas has felt particularly unfestive as nobody has wanted to really do anything because they have all been ill. It's the day before New Year's Eve and already I'm thinking I won't be in the mood to go out tomorrow night.
I've bought tickets for an event at Heyside cricket club but I've already decided I'm not going but I really don't fancy sitting in on my own. Alexa and Fi have invited me over to spend NYE even with them and Linda and Debs. I'll see how I feel though tomorrow.
I cooked the big ham joint mum brought over and boiled it first to draw out some of the salt and then finished it off in the oven. I will slice it up tomorrow when it's cooked down using my meat slicer which has actually been a great purchase as used it loads since buying it. It's great for slicing up meat thin enough for sandwiches rather than having whacking great big chunks on a butty.
Spent some time with Fi on Call of Duty on the PS4 cos it's always better playing with someone you know as most people don't speak when they play. It just makes the game so much harder when people don't communicate to talk through where to go or warn each other of approaching enemies etc. It probably sounds a bit sad a 50-year-old man playing on a games console but I see it as a social thing as I get to chat to Fi every time I play plus it's good to keep the brain active. I would otherwise only be sitting watching telly on my own so it at least keeps the grey matter working.
Ate loads more shite all day but I've decided I'm not gonna sweat about it at this time of year, it is what it is.
