The day after the night before

Considering the amount of alcohol I drank last night and the fact I don't remember getting home, I was up at 8am cooking breakfast for everyone. We ended up with an extra house guest than expected as mum got a taxi home then realised she had no house key as she left it at mine when she got ready there. So she had to get a taxi back and stay at mine. Layla had to sleep on the sofa, mum got in with Kirsty and Viv stayed with me in my bed (when she eventually came to bed at 7am!).

I couldn't believe the number of cards and gifts I got last night. I spend most of the morning opening them and then adding all the amazon vouchers to my account. There were two vouchers for £25 from different people that said the codes were invalid. I contacted Amazon via their online chat but was basically told (after lots of email sending photos etc) that there was no money on each of them. It's possible two people have scanned the giftcards and been charged for them but they hadn't been activated?

Later in the day, I got an email from Amazon customer service to say that they had made an exception and credited my account with £50 as a gesture of goodwill. Just shows it's always worth following up. Normally I would have just thought "oh well invalid code so I'll just suck it up". I think because I knew that someone else had taken the time to buy them for me, I felt I owed it to them to follow up so they hadn't wasted their money.

I bought myself the apple 7 watch that I had added to my wishlist to one day buy. I will remember my 50th and all the people that bought me vouchers every time I see my watch. :-)

We went to Khau Galli in Royton for an Indian. We had pre-booked the outdoor pods for £5 each extra as I thought it would be a new experience eating under the stars. The pods are made of rigid perspex with windows that open if it was warm as well as heaters if it's cold. You have a sound system that you can link your iphone to and play music of your choice. We just opted for the playlists that was already on and the music was fine. There is also a call bell you can press should you need your server for anything.

The view behind me was of the building roof etc so not that appealing so I edit our pics to add a flower wall backdrop lol.

The service was good and our server introduced herself and explained she would be looking after us for the night. I always think this is a much better way of doing things so you know someone knows where you are up to etc.

We had popadoms to kick things off and then I had chicken shish kebabs for starter, then chicken Balti for my main. The food was lovely and they couldn't do enough for us.

They even brought out a dessert with a big firework sparkler, for my birthday at the end of the meal. You also got warm towels when had finished. All the little things are what make the difference between an average eating out experience and one that you will remember and recommend to others. Will definitely be back.
