I decided not to stay home and mope again today so got up and dressed and took Bella out to work with me. It was only a short appointment in Clitheroe so I knew it wouldn't be a long day. I put her dog bed on the front seat so she could be next to me as I wasn't sure how she would feel being in the back on her own, so thought if I switch things up it might not feel so strange for her.
After my appointment, I did a little Lidl shop so I had the essentials I'd ran out of like Loo roll and washing up liquid, cos I always like to have a spare of stuff and replace the spare rather than run out of essentials.
One of this month's Buckt activities was a Salsa class for two people, so I roped Lynne into it. It was a really grey, wet and miserable day and would have been very easy to bail on it but it's probably the best day to get out of the house and doing something a bit different. On the way to Manchester, I dropped Bella off at mums. Kirsty is staying there too so she will get lots of fuss from them both. When we got to Havana Salsa it was really busy and there was a bit of a cock up with the Buckt thing as I had booked the session on the app but hadn't actually booked the specific class, oops. Anyway, one of the instructors Marian was dead understanding and just added our names to the list.
We did a warm-up bit first with everyone and then the room was split into beginners and intermediate. We were taught a few basic steps first and then started partner work. You are all in a circle and after each practice, the ladies move clockwise around the circle to their next partner. It was a good laugh actually and I can imagine it gets better when you have learned the basics and go again. I'm not sure Lynne was overkeen on it and I think she was praying for it to be over lol. If I want to carry on then I will see if Jenna fancies coming too as she mentioned she'd quite like it. It could be good to have a regular activity to do each week and a good way to meet new people.
After class Lynne needed to rehydrate (oh yeah we forgot to take a bottle of water each lol) so we nipped into the millstone for one. It was Karaoke night and looked like it was filled with extras for the series 'Shameless' and didn't have a full set of teeth between them, so we literally had the one drink and left lol. There were loads of old people in there who looked like they should be shopping in the Arndale and we couldn't understand where they had come from. They looked like regulars but it's not like there are any houses nearby I don't think? It's full of swanky apartments in the city centre. Very strange where they come from.
As much as I have been sad the past few days, I also have a lot to be thankful for. I am in a fortunate position to be able to do mid-week activities like Salsa etc. I also had 12 amazing years of company with my baby girl that some people would love to have. So I'm gonna try not to be sad now and just remember the joy Bonnie brought me. I'm also lucky enough to have Bella so it's not like I am suddenly in an empty house I have my other little fur baby to snuggle up to.
Goodnight all.
