Testing & Taste Testing

Updated: Sep 18, 2022

Had a lie-in until 8am as it felt like I had been traveling for 2 days straight, even though I'd kinda slept in between. My first job was to get all my washing done so that unpacking doesn't drag on. I'd received a Comfort fabric softener to product test before I went away so it was the perfect chance to get 3 lots of washing done and put it to the test.

Not gonna lie the whole house smelled amazing with this stuff. As soon as I took it out of the washing machine I could smell it, even after it had been outside drying on the line, when I brought it in the whole house was filled with the smell of clean washing. If it smells half as strong in the drawers my other washing should smell great too (review to follow).

I collected the dogs from mum and took them for a walk cos I know they won't have been walked by mum, unless Kirsty stayed there. I don't half miss them while I'm away but I just half to not ring home and try not to think about them until I get back.

I was literally just talking to mum about not having my photos from the last dive through (there was only a few) and next minute they started coming through on my whatsapp. Spooky lol,.

Bella is scratching a lot again despite being on two different tablets. I've had to put some Sudocrem on her stomach cos it's almost raw in places bless her. It seemed to ease it a bit but I hate seeing her looking so uncomfortable. It tends to be when it's warm out she starts with it so I've got the cooling mats out again.

Got a message off Elena to see if I fancied going to Uppermill for a bit (nothing heavy). She had VIP invite to the new part of Sorella, called Kobe which is a coffee shope during the day and is going to be an Asian Fusion restaurant at night. We got a glass of prosecco on arrival and then just had to pay for any additional drinks. They then brought out lots of different starters to try the food. There were some lovely dishes, including Sushi, crispy prawns, and edamame beans with salt, and chilli. There were probably just a couple if changes I would have made. The raw fish that came out was quite thick cut and as you were eating with chopsticks, felt a bit awkward to eat. I would have either made the fish cut into thin slivers or if it was thick, smaller pieces so they were bite size to be able to just pick up with the chopsticks and pop in your mouth. It was hard trying to bite through a big piece of fish or break it up with chopsticks.

There was also a dish that didn't seem to fit with the theme, a kind of chicken skewer with onion and pepper on that needed some kind of Chinese taste to it, maybe honey and soy or sommat? It was a lovely venue and they had got the lighting spot on so it felt intimate but not so dark that you couldn't see the food. I will definitely be going back when it opens to try some of the other dishes. I will wait until it's been running a couple of weeks and then do a proper visit with full review.

When we'd finished we nipped over to muse for a quick glass of fizz. Rob Norbury was there and found us a table as soon as we went in. He just gets better with age, he's so fit and is an all-round nice guy too.

We didn't stay long cos we were both knackered so Elena came back to mine for a coffee and then went home. It's always a good night when me and Elena get together and we both tend to be ready for home at about the same time. I was in bed for 10pm, perfect!
