Intro: Okay so in the name of full transparency I should point out that I did not purchase this product, it was #Gifted by the Home Testers Club in order to product test and review. I would like to point out though that all my opinions are honest and not biased. If it's not good I will say so.
1: Your First Impressions
To capture my first impressions I did do an unboxing video in order to get my first reactions to the product (see below). In a nutshell, though the pot seems really sturdy and robust. There are a lot of little details that make it a higher quality product, with everything from textured handles on the side, a measuring scale inside the pan, and the Jamie Oliver and Tefal branding on the lid handle.
Just to correct something in the video above (I didn't have my specs on) it holds 5.2L not 2L as I said in the video.
2: How Have I Tested?
The first time I used the pot it was just to boil spaghetti so didn't really put it through the wringer. I did want to use it though, to see if the lid handle got hot when boiling food in the pan. I was pleased to see that the handle did not get hot which was a nice surprise. I have always hated pans with metal handles where you have to pick up the lid with a pot towel or something. To me, that means it is not fit for purpose. Obviously, the first time I used it there wasn't much to clean after use so it came up sparkling as you would expect.
The second time I used the pot I made a pasta sauce with Chorizo as I knew if anything was going to cause problems it would be chorizo. The pad heated up quickly and maintains the heat even after I switched it off and left the lid on. It cleaned up easily and didn't need any hard scrubbing.
3: Pros and Cons
Pros:-
Very sturdy
Easy to clean
Heats up Quickly
Cons:-
Probably paying more for the celebrity name than a regular pan of the same size.
4: The Final Score
I would give this a 9 out of 10.
A great pan and ideal for a small family, but probably a little pricey compared to similar pans.
