Sunny Saturday

Well to say the weather wasn't meant to be that great, it turned out okay. From about 9am for an hour it lashed it down and looked really grey and miserable, but then from about 10:30 the sun came out and it was lovely most of the day. Mum made us both a coffe and some breakfast, YES you read that right SHE made us both coffee and breakfast for a change, it actually felt like I was on my hols lol. Straight after breakfast, Christine came round and we went for a stroll around the market over the road (well they went on their mobility scooter and I trotted behind to keep up).

The sun stayed out all day and just started to cloud over a bit when we were on our way back. We made plans with Christ to come round about 7pm to do the gin taste test with us and then we would meet Derek at 'Cues' bar n the front. I hadn't been there before but they had a rock band on that sang all covers. Rob next door (who also joined us for a gin) said the band wasn't meant to be that good but to be honest. The gin was lovely (full review to follow) and even Chris liked it who admitted she wasn't over keen on gin. I think the lemon infusion meant. didn't have a strong juniper gin taste and was actually really nice mixed with lemonade Very fresh and summery.

Even though it was billed as a sports bar, which initially put me off as I thought it would have football on loud on the TV's and have loads of yobs cheering sand shouting. It was nothing like that. they did have TV's, with various sports, but on silent, and the customers were varied from young lads in their 20's to families to older couples.

Dispite what Rob had said, we enjoyed the group, and it wasn't heavy rock or anything just popular hits we all knew.

I had a really good night and we had a laugh as I made it my mission to make Derek have a good time as mum said he ws normally really serious when they went out. Not on my watch! lol. Had a good dance with a couple of girls I made friends with on the dancefloor, I decided I was going to be bothered about what other people thought and not dance as I would never see them again anyway. I'm trying to keep pushing myself out of my comfort zone so that I have more confidence. People think I am outgoing and confident but anything where I might look silly I will avoid at all costs. So I just headed to the dancefloor even when there was only one girl dancing and thought, stuff it I'm having a good time and so what.

Had a really good night and I think they had the balance just right to cater to all ages as they did one game of bingo right near the beginning and then another later on. It broke the night up but wasn't like sitting through 6 games of bingo altogether which gets really boring. Oh and managed to get many a smile out of Derek, much to his annoyance lol.
