Sunday Funday

Took the dogs out early to tire them out and fed them so they had eaten a bit later than normal as it was day drinking day so I was going to be out all day. Jay is gonna let them stay in the back with the doors open cos he is gonna be in the garden all day. Lynn over the road is going to feed them at 5pm and let them out so they aren't neglected.

Jay dropped me off at Adele and Mikes for 12pm to save me getting a cab. We had a quick photo then got the Saddleworth Rambler into Diggle.

The bus ride was a great start to the day as we got introduced to the local bus community lol. Rose who is 85 gets the rambler in Stalybridge at 9am and rides the whole route for the day, checking out the sites and chatting to people that get on the bus. There was another lady called Eileen who knew Rose as well as some younger lads that were part of the bus club and knew when the drivers were changing over shift as well as their names lol.

The first pub was right near the bus stop so we set up the kitty (Adele has a purse for that lol) and got the first round in. It's easy to just set up a kitty from the start then there is no

hassle over who's round it is etc. Whipping the cat purse out at the bar and explaining it's the 'kitty' always gets a smile lol. It was a proper sunny day so we sat out in the beer garden and got chatting to a couple who were earwigging into our conversation lol.

After the first round we walked along the canal to the next pub and got ourselves some snacks (crisp) as they said they had finished food, but eventually, we managed to talk them into doing us some bowls of chips :-)

After another few pubs we ended up in Uppermill and then decided to grab everyone a meal deal from the Co-op cos we needed some tea lol. They weren't going to let us bring our own food in at first until I pointed out that they weren't serving food any more and it was let us bring food in or we'd go somewhere else to get food so they would lose out either way.

Bumped into loads of people I knew and even a few from The Tavern. At some point in the night Adele convinced me to take my bag off (I'd had it strapped across me all day). And that folks is where I lost my bag! I have a strict rule when I'm out that I don't take anything out with me that's not attached - coats, bags, mobiles (Unless kept in the pocket) which is why I didn't take the bag off.

I remember getting in the cab to go to Adele & Mikes for Chicken Butties and I must have left the bag in that pub where I took it off I'm not holding out much hope of getting it back, but you never know :-/

Still home at a reasonable timne though :-)
