Party in the Park

Updated: May 30, 2022

Viv, Layla and Kirsty got up and packed ready for their trip to London. I jumped in the shower and got ready for the party in the park. I rang Andy Lee to see what time he was in stage and he offered to pick me up on the way. He was pretty much almost there when he realised he had forgotten to call for me, so doubled back to come to get me.

He was doing a couple of songs and Victor Michael was going to join him on stage for his last song (I'm sure that will go down well with the ladies, cos Victor is a bit of a hottie ;-) )

The event was a memorial for Alison and Lisa who were killed in the Manchester Arena bombing 5 years ago. It would have been Alison's 50th this year and a lot of her friends want to make sure she is not forgotten. It was a great afternoon and the weather stayed dry the whole day. Adele Taylor had helped organised a lot of is so I had a chat with her about potentially doing an event next year for the Tavern in the same place. The layout is a perfect auditorium set up as the grass banks slope all the way up from the stage area so wherever you are standing/sitting you can see the stage. You could take your own food and drink and some people event took picnic blankets, chairs, and tables etc.

I bumped into our Julie and Chris early on and then saw Nicky's mum Denise .

I spent most of the afternoon with Nicola and Lucy from workshop and Adele from the Bluebelle (ex Landlady). The line up was really good as most acts just did a couple of songs so that everyone could get a slot. I bet it took a hell of a lot of organising, which is why I thought Adele would be perfect to help organise the tavern event. Hopefully, as we are soon to be a CIC we should be able to get grants to help put on the event and bring people to the area etc.

We ended up going o ver the Bluebelle after the day finished at 7pm but still ended up home by 9:30pm so not too late a night.
