Okay so last night was a really good night. It's great going out when it's still light and the sun is shining. We had booked a taxi to pick us up from the campsite at 7pm but we were ready early so brought it forward. There is a Mexican restaurant in Abersoch that doesn't normally take bookings you just have to rock up, be we rang on the off chance and as it was quiet they let us book a table for 8pm.
In true Colonel Karl style, (or as I called him DCI Day) we had an itinerary and timetable to stick to. This is easier said than done when you have Sammy in tow who is easily distracted and walks like a pensioner (hence she became nanna Sammy lol). A typcial conversation would go like this (this didn't happen by the way it's just for dramatisation purposes lol) :-
Karl: Sammy will you ask Kelly if she wants brown sauce on her bacon butty.
Sammy: Kelly do you want, Oh my god are those my straighteners? I knew you had them. Oooh I like that top where's it from? I was gonna get that top in pink, Oh Karl said did you want......What time are we going out later did you say 7 or 8? Are we meeting at the toilet block? oh, that reminds me I need a wee I'll be back in a min, oh by the way Karl wanted you I can't remember what for.
Kelly: Karl did you want me?
Karl: Yeah I told Sammy to ask you, oh doesn't matter I've put brown sauce on now.
Once in town we grabbed a cocktail each and Land & Sea. I had a Chambord prosecco the girls had strawberry daiquiri each (obviously the boys had a beer each lol). I actually feel like I am on some Mediterranean marina or something I love it. We had a gorgeous Mexican in a place called Manana's, some starters to share and then I went for the crab tacos which were on a kind of crisp bread in the shape of a crab shell (forgot to get a pic). I really need to start remembering to capture everything in photos for my blog going forward (now I daily blogger lol).
After dinner, we went to some bars that were all within walking distance from each other. Really nice bars and all of them are dog friendly. I stayed on red wine and cokes most of the night but then we did have a few shots of mini Guinness and I think some sambuca if my memory serves me right. All that was missing was a bit of Karaoke lol.
We had a taxi booked to pick us up again at midnight and then it was back to the caravan and bed for me lol.
I woke up about 7am and saw a few rabbits running around the camp while there was still morning dew all over the grass and the rest were sleeping. As it started to get warm I felt a tad bilious, nobody wants to be hung over in the sun. Luckily a couple of Rennies for the acid and I was a million dollars again. The plan had been to have a full English for breakfast but I could just about stomach a toast and a bottle of water.
We headed down to the beach to meet up with Luke who had launched his jetski and was going to drive round to meet us. I thought we were just going to be sat in a cafe or something so wore jeans ready for the journey home (not my best idea) and so it was absolutely boiling. After sweating my arse crack off me and Sammy decided we would head back to the campsite to drop off Kelly while Luke and Karl went around on the jetski.
We said our goodbyes and then hit the road.
We were making good headway but then made a quick pit stop via Mcdonalds (much needed). Sadly when we went to re-join the motorway there was a huge tailback due to a jack-knifed lorry. Despite this we made it back to Sammy's in about 3 1/2 hours. I was obviously a great traveling companion to keep Sammy company as you can see from the pic she took of me lol. As you can tell from my breathing out pose, I'm not as sporty as I once was lol.
Had a great weekend and laughed constantly. Kelly & Sammy have a great relationship and constantly rip each other to pieces. Sammy takes the Micky out of Kelly for being posh and Kelly takes the Micky out of Sammy for being like a nanna. Karl just like to pretend he finds everyone infuriating and tries to keep a straight face while deep down he loves it lol.
I pretty much hit the sack as soon as I got in, after watching one episode of The Umbrella Academy.
