Groundhog day and still full of a cold (I won't call it flu cos it's just an annoying cough and bunged-up nose and when I've had flu it's floored me) but the kidney pain is still really bad. I'm not bad with pain, I can sit through a tattoo for 8 hours at a time, but this literally takes my breath with a kind of stabbing pain. I am going to try and get a phone appointment at the docs tomorrow as I don't want it to get worse. I just wanna feel okay for Christmas and New Year as there is nothing worse than being ill when everyone is in party mode :-/
I'm can feel the tingling start of cold sores on my mouth too which is another indication when I am run down as that's usually when I get them. I've cancelled so many things so far this week cos I really don't feel up to it. I've hardly bought any Christmas presents so I'm going to have to rely on Amazon Prime cos I can't face busy shops and idiots slamming on their breaks in a shop without notice and just gawping at stuff.
I really need to start taking multivitamins and supplements and keep them up all year round especially in winter when you eat a lot more stodge and less fresh fruit and veg. To get some wholesome food in me I thought I would make myself a bug pan of lentil and bacon soup and freeze some portions of it. Winter is my soup season so trust me this will be the first of many soups to come lol. It's also a good way to use up veg rather than waste it as living on your own means you don't always get to use fresh veg by the best before date. It might look a bit bland in colour but trust me it was very tasty.
I got out my festive mugs today too so I can start making my lovely festive coffees when people pop round, complete with squirty cream and Christmas sprinkles. I've also got some marshmallows for bedtime hot chocolates ;-)
Speaking of mugs I now have quite a good collection of Tavernmugs from the various events we have done. They were £9.99 each so if you are reading this when I've popped my clogs make sure you don't take anything less than £10 at The Antiques Roadshow lol.
Hopefully, get some answers from the docs tomorrow if they can give me a telephone apt and I can get some antibiotics and get them started.
I thought I'd finish this post with a roundup of my year to date.
