I did exactly what I said I would yesterday. I got up at 5am and did the morning routine, did my Toga at 7am for half an hour (which also doubled up as a pre-workout stretch), then went to the gym with Jay. It was £8 to go as a guest which is going to be too much for me I know that for a start and it's a trek to get to so, I will probably dig my weights and resistance bands out and try doing some of the weight training at home. If I have to travel 40 mins round trip and then train it will eat into my day too much as I still need to work 9-5 as much as possible.
As soon as we got back from the gym we had a healthy breakfast at Jays, Scrambled eggs, avocado, and tomatoes, with a black coffee. I'm going to try and get into the habit of drinking two litres of water a day too. I have a bottle that's 500ml so if I drink 4 of them I've done it. I'll probably be pissing like a racehorse though until my body gets used to it, but I want to get fit.
I also weighed myself when I got back and took photos in my boxer in front of the mirror NOT breathing in. I don't even think I can breathe my gut in anymore. I used to go out for the night and not breathe out from the minute I left the house to look something like in shape (round is a shape). So I weigh as of today 14st 2lb which is ridiculous! I have NEVER weighed that much in my life. I'm not going to post the pics as I would never get a date again. I will, however, keep a folder of them on my phone and WHEN I have got myself back into better shape I will do a time-lapse with them from start to finish. Now don't get me wrong I am not expecting to look like a men's health magazine cover model by the end of it, but I certainly want to feel okay taking my top off on holiday. As it stands right now Greenpeace would probably try and throw me back into the sea thinking I was a beached whale.
I downloaded the My Fitness Pal free app and started tracking my food and water intake too so I know how much I am shoveling in my gob. I've set my calories to 1800 per day which I think is right for a man my age (check me! a MAN lol seems weird saying that cos I just feel like a boy lol). I know once I get used to knowing how many calories are in stuff I will be able to do it without the app. but I want to take the guesswork out of it for now. I know my biggest downfalls will be my snacking and sweet tooth cos it's shocking how quickly all those calories mount up.
Another benefit of doing more exercise will be that it should improve my mental health as my brain will start to release endorphins from the exercising.
Made a very healthy tea, Turkey steak stir-fried with peppers and salt & pepper seasoning with a side of mixed veg in garlic butter. All the components were logged in fitness pal and I will still be under my 1800 cals for the day so jobs a good un. It looks quite bland on the pic but it was really tasty. Also managed to drink my 2 litres of water too.
Closed all my apple watch rings today by lunch time so another successful day.
Went down to see my grandad as not been in ages. We were talking about how many fish he had in his tank and he wasn't sure if there were 5 or 6. I counted 5 then realised there was one floating in the top of the tank that must have died and he'd not realised. It wasn't big enough o have with chips so I fished it out (pardon the pun) and gave it a quick service and burial in the grey bin outside.
Tomorrow will be a hard day to stick to the health and diet cos it's Ascot Day at The White Hart with a meal and afternoon tea later and I'm sure there will be alcohol involved. :-/ I'm going to try and not go mental though and have a few glasses of water in between rounds.
Eddie rang to let me know that Season 3 of Love Victor is available to stream now. It's a gay high school love story series that s probably the first mainstream one released by Disney +. They left it on. a real cliffhanger at the end of Season 2 so I had to watch at least the first episode before going to bed. I'm a sucker for a love story :-)
Early night thought as I wanna get up at 5am again. Plus having another 7 episodes left is something to look forward to watching.
G'night.
