Woke up nice and early so I could feed the dogs and give them their first lot of medication with their food so it was one less job for Eddie to do. Then he only really needs to do their night food as I will be back in the morning and can sort the out again then. I've had to order another lot of the 2 heart medications for Bonnie as she is running low. Next time I'm just going to ask for the prescription and see what prices they are online, I just didn't have time to sort it this time round.
Drove over to pick Lynne up at 9am as we wanted to get over to the spa for 10:30 as our first thing was the 15 minute hot tub session at 11:15. We checked in and got chsnged into our robes and slippers for the day. We had a quick coffee first then swim first to burn of some calories. It was good that we came mid-week because it wasn't busy and you could have a leisurely swim without crashing into people.
Next it was time for our 15-minute hot tub session. It was nice as the weather wasn't hot like it's been in previous days. It was dry and sunny but quite mild so it was a nice experience being in an open-air hot tub, rather than being baking in the sun too. Lynne doesn't look like she's having a good time but she was lol. She just forgets that she no longer has her braces on and so can smile and show her teeth now lol.
At 12pm it was our official slot for the Heat and Ice treatments, which consisted of various areas including a dry sauna, steam room, ice chamber, plunge pool. It was nice to keep switching between the different temperatures and I'm sure it will be great for my skin all that open and closing of the pores.
After the heat and ice experience, it was time for lunch, which was perfect timing for me as I didn't have breakfast so a late lunch would have been too long to wait for me to eat. Not that I have to worry about wasting away, I have enough fat reserves :-)
Lynne had smokes salmon chiabata an d I had the chicken and mushroom pasta. I've never thought to make that but I might give it a go when I get home. I have a few different dried mushrooms so might make rehydrate those and make it with them for a change.
After lunch, we had a relax in the quiet soon, where there were lots of bean bags things to sit on or comfy chairs and seating. I always find it hard to shut off and relax in that kind of thing but did my best.
Before I had time to get bored it was 2pm and we could check-in to our apartment. It was a duplex style apartment with a balcony (they don't all have one). There was a breakfast basket for the morning as well as butter, milk yoghurts and orange juice in the fridge.
We just had time to check-in and enjoy a glass of fizz on the balcony and then it was time for our massage. I booked us both a back neck and shoulder massage. Lynne initially wasn't going to bother but I wanted to get her one for her birthday as I thought it might help her unwind.
I felt so chilled afterward, but no matter how long a have a massage for it just never seems long enough. I need to get back into the routine of having a monthly massage as it's so good to unwind and get rid of your knots and tension.
We went back up to the room to unpack properly and then did another round of the heat & Ice area and had a look around the Elemis counter as I am keen to try some new products to switch up my current skincare routine. I always think it's good to mix things up so your skin doesn't get used to your current routine. I chose a few products but then Lynne reminded me that I could probably get them cheaper on their website and also with a better free gift.
Lynne went on a trip to a local shop (I say local she walked to the next bloody village) for some snacks for later as we knew we'd both be hungry later lol.
Dinner was two courses (I forget pics of the first one) and we shared starters and mains so we could try different dishes. For mains we had mushroom ravioli with a basil sauce and seabass with crushed potatoes and a cream sauce. The food was lovely, but yes we will defo be hunry later after a few cocktails. We got chatting to a lovely lady called Helen who was sat on her own next to us. She had booked the break for herself and her partner but it hadn't worked out and they had slit up. She came and joined us for a few drinks after we'd eaten.
The bar started to get a few more people in later on but we were so relaxed it made us a bit tired so we went up to the apartment and finished off a bottle of prosecco and had snacks.
