South Carolina - Day 5

Had a coffee and muffin for breakfast, which I could get used to wiht my sweet tooth. Not sure my waistline would thank me though lol.

Spent the day relaxing by the lake and had a ride out onto the lake in the boat. It's so quiet there was hardly anybody out on the lake so we drove along the coastline looking at the different houses. Each one is detached and has it's own 'lot' (they call it) and has land with it.

After lunch we walked over to the new house Lesley and Sandy are having built. They call it a carriage house as it will have space for the boat and an RV but Sandy plans to turn the RV garage into a golfing area. There is also a huge garage underneath the house that could probably fit about 6 cars or more. They are going to spend time in the new Lakehouse and then knock down the current trailer and build a new house on that lot as it has the lakeview. I have never known people to have several houses they spend time at. In the UK you tend to live in the one house and if you have a second home it's a rental to generate an income.

We went out to dinner at local restaurant called Hyams (I think). I had a cajun shrimp basket with fries which was really tasty. The restaurant had a huge aligator skin and it's had hung up on the ceiling that somebody caught in the lake nearby. You can actually get to the restaurant from the lakehouse if you wanted to drive the boat up and park up on the dock outside.

After dinner we just caught the last of the sunset. There was a storm coming and you could see the lightning over the lake. I think I managed to catch a bit of it on video just before the heavens opened.
