Took my baby to the groomer this morning for her first summer trip as she had missed her scheduled one last month and I had to clipper her myself (not great but better than being thick fur and too hot). I took her Cinnamon Aitch soap with me and asked them to use it to help reduce her allergies. She doesn't seem to itch after I bath her with it. She did start to scratch herself more though after the groom so I don't know if its the little hairs or the other dogs that make her irritated. I am going to bath her again over the weekend with just her soap in case that's what's bothering her cos she wasn't itching this much before her groom. She also came back with a few clipper burns and one quite bad one on her nose which I'm not happy about. If I could groomer her more effectively myself at home I wouldn't take her to a groomers cos I never think they are as gentle with your dogs as you would be with your own.
I had a zoom interview in the afternoon about LGBTQ+ relationships with different brands, travel and hotels etc. I did an online community about it during the week after work but I was picked to do a follow-up zoom. I pretty much said I don't always think it's necessary to have hotels listed as "Gay Friendly" because we should have moved past this now. It shouldn't really even need to a 'thing' people should just be treated equally and with respect regardless of their sexuality. We don't feel the need to have "Asian friendly hotels" etc. I personally don't need a hotel that's specifically gay-friendly because I'm not planning to be getting it on with someone in the hotel reception etc so it never really enters my mind. I also don't subscribe to this rainbow flag bull shit with extra stripes in. Unless mother nature has changed physics and the rainbow now has new colours and I missed the memo then there are only 7 colours. I thought the whole point of the rainbow is it's already inclusive cos it covers every colour of the rainbow. Each colour doesn't represent a different sexuality so why we now need trans & diversity colours added etc, when to me they were already covered under the same "every colour of the rainbow" umbrella, is beyond me. Things just always seem to have to get all political for the sake of it.
We launched our latest Preferred Partner with The Virtual Tavern. We have partnered up with Easy Fundraising which have a website and app that allows people to search for brands and do their regular online shop. They will then make a donation to The Virtual Tavern CIC for any purchases made. It's free to sign up and there is no cost to the members. Hopefully, this will be a great way for us to raise funds without it costing anyone (except the brands). We just need volume to make a difference, if lots of people do a little it will soon mount up.
I posted it on my own Facebook and it was interesting to see who the first people were to sign up and show their support.
I'm sure some of my friends just haven't had the time yet and will get round to it.
If you shop online and would like to help raise funds for The Virtual Tavern CIC non for profit, with no cost to yourself, please click the link HERE.
