The day has finally arrived to go on the helicopter ride that Rache bought me for my birthday last year! It was canceled due to bad weather and now was the first time we both were free when they had availability. The trip was a red-letter day experience and the company was called Adventure Helicopters 001 ( I think). It was all very organised although we had about an hour delay as the weather started off really cloudy so it pushed a lot of the earlier flights back. It was a lovely day though so we got ourselves and icecream Tub each (well Rachel treated us both). I went for Lemon Curd and Rum and Raisin, thought I'd go retro.
I took lots of pictures and videos but thought it better to put them together into a short video to capture the experience.
We couldn't have picked a better day, it was lovely and Sunny (wish I'd known that before I set off in a jumper and big coat lol). It was grey and miserable when I set off then cracking flags when I got there. Visibility was great and it was nice and sunny and not too cloudy to create any turbulence.
Rachel gave me this years card and present when we got back to the car, which I suspect might be another experience by the shape of the envelope ;-) I much prefer gifts that are an experience that you can do with the person that bought it you. I'd ratehr make memories than accumulate stuff.
I got back home and had a little sunbathe in Jay's back garden with him as I don't have sun loungers in mine. Me doing my OOOHHHH It's too warm pose lol
Then I made us a seafood salad for dinner. I love salads once the sun's out and could eat a different one every day because I try to make them interesting and add lots of ingredients chopped up small so that every mouthful is a different flavour combination.
After dinner I played a few games of COD with Fi. We started off doing pretty well and then went downhill from here until we pretty much died on every game :-/
Read some of my book in bed to make me sleepy.
Tomorrow is packing day. Also, need to show Andy where everything is in the house as he is going to be looking after my baby girl and the house while I am on hols. Crete here we come!
