Six by Saturday

Woke up at 5am (typical when I don't need to) so I just got up and tried to get on top of some washing while I was up. I'm liking the washing sheets so far, the results seem comparable to the washing pods and in fact maybe better as you don't get the bits of undissolved pod stuck to some of your clothes. It's also nice to think you are doing your bit for the planet too and the price is good £2.50 for 25 washes. That's usually the problem when you want to do the right thing, that it usually comes at a premium so it's no wonder people don't bother.

Me and Lynne managed to sync up our diaries and get two of my 5 events from Buckt, in the diaries and book the events for this month. I quite like the idea of it as it makes you try experiences you might otherwise not think to do. plus it stops me from going into hibernation for winter and just staying in locking the door and not seeing anyone.

I took the girls down to Mum so she could look after them while I go out as I've had the meal booked for a while and Jay got an invite to a party in town the same night. So we are combining both. Mum had some steak she had cooked in the slow cooker she thought the girls might like, sadly they BOTH turned their noses up. It was only later that she mentioned she had put garlic in with it, so not surprising they weren't interested it probably took over the whole smell. Bonnie just looks so feeble at the mo bless her, her legs and stick thin and her belly touches the floor she looks like she can't get comfy even lying down. There is part of me that would hate for her not to be here anymore but then I have to think is that selfish of me if she isn't enjoying a good quality of life? She is booked in for a review at the Vets on Monday so I will have to see what they say :-/

Died my beard with just for men to get rid of the grey as Derek said I'm far too young to have grey in my beard lol. He text me after I did a faceboo k live the other day bless him. I wore my birthday outfit but with a white shirt (got to get some use out of it eh lol).

Had a little livener at Jays while we were getting ready. Probably not the best move as I ended up with acid reflux, white wine no longer agrees with me I'm beginning to realise as I get older.

We got a taxi down to town and arrived bang on time for our table at 7pm. Rachel and Debbie weren't far behind us.

The menu for the night was Down the rabbit hole and had an Alice in Wonderland theme. I have to say it wasn't one of my favourite menus to date and I think we all left quite a bit of one of the courses (The pork) it was pork belly and was quite fatty and not even well cooked wo it rendered and was crispy it was just fatty :-/

Also, the service wasn't great, I don't know if they are struggling to keep hold of staff but some of them are definitely in the wrong job. One girl was really socially awkward and almost whispered the description of the course and none of us hear what she was saying. At one point she came over tio the table to bring cutlery and asked "what course have you just had?" Eeerrr isnt that your job to know? What's the point in coming over if you don;'t what where we are up to. We didn't get a complimentary glass of prosecco again, which is fine if I am no longer on their VIP list to get it but it just seems to be hit and miss if I do or don't since Kate has left Manchester. It was just a nice touch that made you feel like a valued customer that no longer seems to happen.

After we finished eating Jay and I headed over to Dukes 92 to his mate Dan's 40th. I thought with the meal being a taster menu we wouldn't be too full to go out drinking but firstly we felt like we were playing catch up as the rest of the party had obviously been drinking while we were having our meal. Plus when you've had a meal I don't think you are ever gonna be in party dancing mode. We stayed for a few and then got a taxi back. We were home for 12:30am and I was straight in bed.
