Review: Pure Evil - Lynda La Plante

I was really looking forward to this as I thought it would be a really gripping read as I was a huge fan of 'Prime Suspect'. Sadly it didn't live up to my expectations :-(

I will do my best not to spoil the plot but it's obviously about a serial killer as it says so on the front cover. The problem I had was there were two sub-stories going on in the book which always made it hard for me to keep my train of thought. One of which was pretty pointless and really didn't add any value to the story at all.

I kept wanting it to get into the main part of the story, expecting twist and turns but sadly there weren't any. No plot twists, nothing unexpected and the last 12 pages or so were probably the bit I thought were going to reveal some twist, but nope. It almost felt like an afterthought and was disappointing to say the least.

Obviously, this is just my opinion and I am probably not your regular reader as things need to grab me and keep my attention. The best book I've read so far is "Wrong Place, Wrong Time" Really gripping, I couldn't put it down. Check it out HERE
