Premature Jubilee

Got up around 7:30am as it was lovely and sunny outside so I wanted to make a start of giving the house a tidy. While it was bright and sunny I took the dogs for a walk to get out amongst nature as it really helps life my mood. Since discovering Bonnies heart condition I am more aware of not taking her on long walks and instead try and take them both out for more walks but shorter distances.

Made some sticky beef wraps for lunch for me and mum using my Gusto menu card. I just thought to myself that I have got all those cards and probably have a lot of the spices I need for most of them, so over the next few weeks, I'm going to just dig one out randomly and see what ingredients I need to buy to make them.

It was Carli and Adam's turn to host us for dinner (me, Adele & Mike, and Carli and Adam). Carli was going with a Jubliee theme so we were asked to wear red, white and blue :-)

Adam picked us all up at around 6:30pm and then it was over to the Keane's. The theme was Jubilee and retro food.

We had pink prosecco welcome drink then posh prawn cocktail (had crab included) for starters, Beef Wellington for main and then Eaton Mess for dessert, followed by Amaretto Coffee. It was absolutely gorgeous, all of it. It's my turn next so I have something to live up to now :-/ Yikes!

We had a few royal visitors for dinner (obviously) with it being our pre-Jubliee dinner. Of course, I was assigned The Queen, what are they trying to say? lol

By Midnight we were all very well-fed and nicely merry from our hosts freely flowing drinks. These kinds of nights are so much more me these days. It's lovely spending time with friends in a cozy environment and enjoying good food and nice wine.
