Well, I definitely won't get to witness another queen Platinum Jubilee in my lifetime. It's been great having 2 extra days off (Wednesday and Thursday) as the special bank holiday. I hadn't really given the whole street party thing much thought if I'm honest and it was only Wednesday that I posted on Facebook to ask if our street was doing anything. Half the street had used the extra days off to go away so there weren't many of us still around.
Anyway, we had decided to have a "drive party" rather than a street party as no firm plans had been made and Claire and Lee next door to me offered to host n their drive. They do have the biggest drive as it's a shared one with Les and Doreen next door to them,
I had to take the dogs to the groomers at 1:30pm and then pick them up around 4pm so I couldn't get involved properly (have a drink lol) until after I had collected the dogs. So once I had dropped them off I went and picked up my mum so she wasn't sat in on her own for the day.
The weather had stayed clear even if it was a bit windy so I made some cucumber finger sandwiches and some ham and mustard triangle ones to take round and then me and mum went round to join them.
Lee's mum and dad came round as well as Callie & Shane from over the road and we had a quick catch up with Les & Doreen before they went off to another event they had already arranged to go to.
It was a really good day/night and we ended up in Lee & Claires after it went a bit chilly doing Karaoke Duet roulette lol. It was just a way of trying different songs and we just had to sing whichever duet had been picked for us.
Reasonably early night ( I think) as wanted to be up early to cook a Sunday Dinner for us both.
Sounds like a lovely day ☺️ x
