Woke up this morning determined to get some jobs done that have been on my mind map for a while. So I nipped over to B&Q and bought a metal shovel so I can dig up the plants in the front (when I am feeling strong). First first job was to wire brush the metal work out the front and get it all painted with black metal protection paint. Once I start though I can't stop so I ended up painting the stone window sills and the electric meter box and drainpipe that was all grubby. I always figure paint doesn't know what surface it is covering so it's not like it's going to say "Sorry no this doesn't feel like metal" lol. so the whole of the front got a spruce up.
The ironic thing is that the tin of anti-rust metal paint I used had all rusted on top.
Maybe they should have painted the lid with the paint lol. Anyway, I managed to buy a wire brush, paintbrush, and shovel with my B&Q vouchers and it cost me £3.29 for everything. I still have a £75 voucher left so I can get some more stuff with it when I need something. It was a really hot day so by the time I had prepped and painted everything I waw knackered and sunburnt even though I put on some factor 50.
Had a really nice shake for lunch with frozen banana, peanut butter, vanilla protein powder, and hazelnut milk. It was delicious!
Sadly I think I may have over-watered my basil plants as they seem to be wilting :-( I'm gutted cos I was really pleased with myself splitting the plant into 5 new ones and thought they would thrive. Lesson learned I will water sparingly next time. It's a shame as I had plans for the basil, I was going to make my own pesto as well as use it on pizzas and salads.
Oh well better luck next time.
Matt published another excerpt from my podcast interview, this time about my morning routine. Hopefully, some of the tips will be of use to someone. If you want to check it out you can watch it below:-
I really enjoyed the podcast and hopefully, we can save up enough money to buy some podcast equipment to start "Tavern Talk" and shine a light on lots of different topics that are normally kept in the dark.
Made a lovely salad for lunch, so I am trying to eat better but it's usually later on when I crave crisps and sugar or chocolate :-( I need to ween myself off the bad stuff. I find it easier o make gradual changes than go on a big crash diet or I just don't stick to it. I do love a nice salad but always want dessert after :-/.
