It's easier to get there with a map

Bonnie kept me awake loads last night so when I woke up and my 5am alarm clock had not go off and it was already 6:30 I was already frustrated that I had missed 1 1/2 hours of my day. I messaged Layla to see if we could change the time for Yoga as I felt like I had hardly slept. Luckily she had already had a sneak peek ann today's lesson was all about meditation and relaxation. So she suggested as it was day 8 that we maybe do 8pm (it just has to have a connection lol) as this would set us up nicely for bed. Joy!

It's surprising how much it can throw me off now I am used to getting up at 5am. I almost feel robbed when I don't get up t 5am as I know I have technically lost some productive time for the day. Also, those 2 hours every morning pretty much equate to having an extra day a week! When you are reaching your 50th you need to start making as much use of your time as you can.

Organised a couple of small cupboards that had gotten a bit out of hand (when I say out of hand they probably look like some people's tidy cupboards lol ). They have been on my mind map for some time so I am conscious that I want to cross them off. I can't remember if I have explained mind maps or not but they are my way of dumping my To-do lists out of my head and onto paper in a way that works for me. Apparently, when you try and write a traditional list doing downwards on a piece of paper, the right side of your brain (the organised and logical side) starts trying to put the list in order as you are writing it. This effectively stops your thoughts from flowing as easily as while you are thinking of things for your list, your right side of the brain is getting in the way trying to put them in the order they need to be done and prioritise them. So with a mind map, you put the main topic or goal in the center of the page and start to just put random branches off with the task you want to get done. If you think of a sub-task then this branches off the min tast. This way you can throw everything down without ride brian getting in the way as it can see there is no order to the list. Personally, I have 3 mindmaps on the go at the same time so I can compartmentalise the 3 key areas in my life. I have WORK, PERSONAL (for all house stuff etc) and then TAVERN STUFF.

This is one of my old ones>>>

These work for me because it's kind of how my brain works, I'm thinking of lots of things I need to do at the same time. When I have too much to do and my mental lists get too long I start to feel overwhelmed. Getting it down on paper then helps clear space in my brain and stops me from spiraling into feeling down or fed up. If there is something on one of my mind maps that is quite a big project or task, I simply start a new page and put the project name in the centre then break down the tasks and sub-tasks that I need to get done in order to complete it. The makes it seem much more manageable and I can start to chip away and the smaller subtasks. Whereas if I just had a big task on my list I would just keep putting it off and never start it because it seemed too overwhelming.

My morning routine always helps me focus my mind when I wake up. So from 5-6am I have a set routine that I do in order to give myself the best chance of a good day. I will do a blog on my morning routine for anyone that doesn't have one and wants to start getting into the habit. It works for me because I then decide how my day looks not the text I looked at as soon as I got up (just an example).

My fancy-dress outfit arrived for the Grand National race day I'm doing with Andy Lee on Saturday. He asked me to come out of DJ retirement to work with him for the day. It's a Jocky outfit, I just thought that a) it's a bit of fun and b) I don't have to worry about dressing up all smart for the races :-) I have done one of these days in the past with Andy and it's usually a good day as me and Andy have a laugh and work well together.

After quite a few people ask me what I want as a present for my birthday, so I published my amazon Wishlist on my birthday event. It's not a birthday list it's just an ongoing list that I add to each time I see something on Amazon that I want. There is everything from plant post to Zoflora to an apple watch. I have told most people if they really want to get me something then Amazon vouchers are perfect as I can just get stuff off my list. Some mates however want to get me something specifically from them rather than a voucher. So I said I would give them access to my list and they can choose something they would like to buy.

You will see what I mean about random stuff on my list, it's not all Ferraris and rolex watches lol, as I sometimes get Alexa to add stuff to my shopping list and it often gets put on my Amazon Wishlist by mistake lol.

Yoga at 8pm was nice and chilled and just what I needed to wind down. The Dogs were at my mums' so got quite a lot of tidying up done without them following me around.
