Istanbul - Day 8

Today has been the best day of the whole trip. A lot of this trip has been quite stressful for one reason or another. I have felt so bad for Kirsty after having saved and saved for so long to get the smile she deserves only for it not to go as planned as she has had to settle for 4 implants and teeth whitening. But today was the final day of her treatment and she didn't need to have any injections so it was over quite quickly. Me and Layla had a nice chill on the terrace and I actually caught a bit of sun on my arms and face, result.

Once Kirsty had her implants fitted we were good to go back to the hotel and grab a cold drink. We had planned to go to a bar with a rooftop terrace that Nicky had recommended but it looks really far away on google maps so we decided to go one just across the street from our hotel called the Long Lounge. Honour (our barman friend) had said it was a shisha bar and had an open rooftop. We eventually found our way to the rooftop and ordered drinks and a watermelon chill shisha, well when in Turkey :-)

It was lovely and sunny and there wasn't really a breeze for the first tie since we had arrived.

I ordered a strawberry milkshake and it was lovely as if it was made icecream. The shisha wasn't all it's cracked up to be I could hardly taste the watermelon but it was only £10 between us.

The atmosphere was far more relaxed today as we had no more visits to the dentist to worry about and we had a laugh together. We also had a few emotional moments, it was nice just chilling together.

After Drinks, we decided to go back to H&Lime for food rather than walk up and down looking for a place only to find it's all the same food we've had all week.

Kirsty went for garlic prawn linguini, Layla had lamb pilaf and I went for the surf and turf as Kirsty had tried that in the week and said it was lovely, and she wasn't wrong. The meat was cooked perfectly and the prawns were huge. On top of a velvety creamy mash and chargrilled veg. Oh, and I had a cheeky kind of deconstructed strawberry cheesecake to take away. Highly recommend this place if you ever find yourself in Istanbul.

Went back to the room to pack and hopefully get a bit of shut-eye before our transfer to the airport early hours of the morning.
