This year marks my 50th Birthday and unlike a lot of people who shy away from getting older, I like to celebrate it. I mean why not be proud to be another year older? Not everyone has the luxury of still being here so I like to embrace every birthday as another milestone.
I think my first 50 years have been about finding who I want to be and who I am. Making mistakes that have taught me life lessons but hopefully, the mistakes I've made have made me a better person in the long run. I always think you shouldn't regret the things you have done, I would be more disappointed looking back at all the things I didn't do or the missed opportunities.
So in true Neil style, I decided to through a party for my 50th. I'm not really one for posh fancy venues as I like people to feel comfortable in the venue and also be able to afford the drinks. So I've booked St Annes Rugby club as the venue as it's nearby and isn't ridiculous drinks prices. It's also a decent size room and holds 200 people, so I've invited all the people from my Facebook that I would like to be there and also assigned 50 tickets for taverners. I would love to be able to invite everyone from the tavern but I would need a bloody arena for 48,000 people lol.
A party is always a great opportunity to see friends that you haven't seen in ages so I'm hoping a lot of people will turn up. Over the next few weeks, I'll sort out a DJ, photographer, backdrop for pics on arrival, and someone to do the buffet.
