No not in a bad way :-)
Got a message of Layla first thing daying that she wasn't going ot be able to make to our activity today as she had been up until late after the concert she went to. I could pretty much have put money on it that she wouldn't come the minute she she was out last night, but I didn't want to be cynical. Anyway as pissed off as I was initially I ended up getting my mate Andy to come with me and we had a right laugh. It's good doing activities every month that are out of your comfort zone and probably not what you would normally do.
We arrived at the venue and the session before us were just finishing. There were some people playing football darts, with a large inflatable dartboard and you kicked large fuffy balls at the board that I think had a kind of velroe material all over it. I suck at football and would have just looked foolish not even getting hte balls near the target so I'm glad I dint book that last month lol.
Soon after we arrived it was out turn and we were all briefed on what we had to do. It was a bit like dodgeball but with bow and arrows (they had a big foam thing in the tip so they don't hurt when they hit you). The outdoor tennis court type are was spilt in half and then the group (24 of us) was split into team of 6 so we could do a tournament and have semi-finals and a final. What doesn't look very energetic when you are watching was actually quite knackering. Everyone got a bow and protective face mask to avoid betting an arrow in the face. All the arrows were laid on the floor at the halfway line then after three the team of 6 from both sides had to run to the centre and grab as many arrows as they could. You then ran back to your side and began to shoot at the other team. After a warm-up game for points to get us used to it, we began the real games. Once we started for real as soon as you got hit you were out and the team with the most players left at the end won and went into the next lot of playoffs. I really enjoyed it and so did Andy, even with his backward roll when he fell over lol.
When we arrived I was freezing but by the end I had my coat off and was just in a short sleeve T-Shirt. Partly cos I was warm with all the running but also to make sure I was a smaller target lol.
(Video to follow)
Picked up Mum, Kirsty and Bella on the way way back and then dropped Andy off home.
For dinner, I made Nachos with cheese and salsa for starters but I did individual portions so someone didn't keep grabbing all the ones with cheese lol. We ended up having a long break before mains and having chili and rice for supper. I added extra beans and lentils to he chilli so it had more protein in and hen froze a few portions in my two-section Meal Trays from Amazon. They have come in so handy I love em.
Had an early night after catching up on a few TV shows as I'm up early tomorrow for the NEC Trade Show in Birmingham.
