Had a visit Yesterday from one of the lovely Taverners as she was collecting one of my little baby Chinese plants and even brought me some chocolate brownies round which was lovely. I have One of them at breakfast with a nice coffee to give me a double hit to start the day. Had to take the parcel for Emma to the post office so that got me dressed and out instead of spending Saturday in my PJ's.
Took the dogs out on the field at the bottom, everything is a bit brown now and not as green as it’s been dry for a while. That’s why when it was raining yesterday I was quite grateful because it has given the plants and gardens a water.
I’m going to start next week with my rise at five without any excuses. I don’t know why I’ve got into this little bit of a funk but I need to snap out of it and getting back to some sort of routine will be there just the thing I need. Kirsty and Layla will be back from holiday soon so we can start to focus on Bali and getting things organised like the first nights hotel and floating breakfast etc.
Spoke to Tom From the Lowerhouse and he mentioned about going to Thailand next year, I said it's somewhere I’ve always wanted to go however wouldn’t go on my own because it feels a bit intimidating and dangerous. He suggested going as a group as it’s a lot safer then and his friend is opening a hotel there so he will have a lot of contacts and know people in the area. I definitely want to go to Thailand somewhere I’ve been wanting to visit for a while but I’d like to do a lot of touristy things and sightseeing and not go out partying every night.
I soaked some of the dried mushrooms I bought online, in hot water so I could make chicken and mushroom pasta, but they probably needed to be soaked a lot longer as some were still a bit hard. the overall taste was nice though, so I will make it with fresh mushrooms next time.
DJ'd at The Saddleworth Hotel again. It was another busy night and they seemed like a good bunch apart from a couple at the beginning of the night who Scott had words with. One was asked to leave after dancing on the bar drunk and then pushing one of the barstaff when they told him to get down. I had a playlist to give me a starting point and did my best to fit them all in but you di need extra songs to help blend from one request to another. They also gave me a lot of requests during the night which helps to know what kinda music they will dance to.
If I was going to do DJ'in again The Saddleworth Hotel would be the perfect place (as long as they moved the DJ booth bit to the dancefloor). There is no gear to load in the car and set up, no packing away and I don't have all the equipment taking over my house. I just don't want to be working every weekend again and have no life. The ideal scenario would be once gig a month and Scott just find the big weddings each month as I prefer a busy night where I have to earn my money.
Another full dancefloor, just how I like it.
