Hair & Bake Off

Up with the birds at 5:30am, which is a lie in with it being weekend lol. Andy rang me at 8:30 and we went and packed down from last night. I also might have a DJ sorted now for the Tavern event. I think Andy is going to come with me and bring all his gear. I don't mind doing the DJ'in as I know how I want the night to go so it will probably be easier. I can just queue up a lot of tunes for early doors so I can still mix and mingle. Then jump into action later on when we want to get things going and throw in a few games etc.

After we'd packed up, Andy dropped me off and I got started doing some baking. Had some bananas to use us so thought I'd make some banana bread muffins and while I was it some almond ones. I'd got about 3 half bags of ground almonds so wanted to use them up, so just nipped the shop for more eggs and some glace cherries for the almond muffins.

By the time I had boxed up some for mum, Jason & Lynne I ended up with2 of each for me lol. Would of been cheaper to buy a box of 4 muffins. BUT not half as therapeutic :-) Plus I also think it's a nice gesture when you bake for someone.

There was a larger 5th Box but I'd already given that to Jay. Her got the most as he bought some of the ingredients for this lot of baking.

When down to Mum's and had a lamb dinner with her (there goes that lamb meat again that make me feel sad) :-( While I was there I got roped into doing some highlights in her hair. I'm no trained hairdresser but I have seen a few people doing foils so just copied what I'd seen, except I had to use thick kitchen tinfoil instead of hairdressing foils lol).

I probably would have gone into hairdressing when I left school had I been 'OUT' at the time and not had to go along with mum and dad's wishes to go into something money-related like banking or accounts. I ended up doing accounts that I hated. Funny how you end up doing what your parents want you to do for a career not what you actually would be good at.

That's probably the one piece of advice I would give to my younger self, Don't live your life to please other people, live it for you!
