Woke up at 5am and did lots of jobs around the house including a few washes ready to put out on the line if it's dry enough. Being typical UK weather though it was a bit hit and miss and I would have had to be in and out all day taking the washing in to avoid the rain as it couldn't make it's mind up. There is probably still a hose pipe ban though despite the amount of rain we get :-/
Drove to Wales to pick up mum and Kirsty as mum has a hospital appointment at weekend and today was pretty much the only day I had free to go get her. I should have been in Lancaster but my customer had to cancel as she has tested positive for Covid. I sometimes forget all about covid and it's almost like it's no longer "a thing' until you hear of someone wiht it. I can't help but feel we are so manipulated in the UK which is why I don't watch the news. For almost 2 year we heard nothing but Covid case numbers on the news, then came the War in the Ukraine against Russian forces invading and now it's like that war no longer exists and the focus is on the cost of living crisis and rising energy costs.
Just as a point of reference for anyone reading this in the future (if my site is still around) diesel costs at the pumps at the moment is around £1.86 per litre. It did rise as high as £2.05 but has come down slightly. Gas and Electric bills for an average family are set to increase from £1340 per year to around £5400 this October. Just in time for the winter, how lovely. So let's see what the future holds eh.
In other news we did the official launch of the next Tavern on Tour event in Manchester. We've already sold a large number just from the newsletter subscribers which is great considering the bulk of the sales usually come in the last two weeks before the event.
Even though we haven't specified fancy dress, people are already talking about the various black and white themed costumes they could wear. We specifically, this time, said black & white as the theme rather then fancy dress, so that people didn't feel the need to purchase costumes for every event. Most people will have something black in their wardrobe if not black and white so it should be easy to get involved with the theme without any additional expense.
I completed a few modules of my PADI diving course while I was watching TV so that I was being productive as there seems like quite a bit to get through.
