Fresh as a Daisy

Updated: Feb 1, 2023

I woke up bright and early and made me, Sharron and Viv a bacon butty (well it was actually smoked turkey rashers to be healthier). Lex had gone home early as I was snoring and keeping her awake bless her. I snore anyway but had I been drinking last night it would have been a lot worse. It was so nice to wake up not feeling rough, no hangover, remembered the whole night, and no beer fear. I told Viv that I hadn't drank last night and was giving up etc. I explained that I hadn't told her so I didn't get pressured into drinking.

After breakfast and a brew we had a chill out on the sofa hen I dropped Sharron off at the tram stop so she could get into town for her train home. It was so nice seeing Sharron after so many years. Even though we keep in touch over the phone we hadn't met up in quite a while.

We watched a bit of Tv then I made me and Viv some Blueberry pancakes from scratch with maple syrup and squirty cream. Very filling so really didn't need any lunch.

We headed over to Rachels for 6pm for an Indian and I drove. I told Rachel about my decision to completely give up alcohol and she completely understood as she has been on nights out with me and seen how I am after too many etc. They drank wine and I just had iced water and I didn't feel I was missing out or needed a drink to enjoy the night.

Viv stayed at Rachels as I have a busy day tomorrow with appointments and sorting out my year-end etc, so I headed home around 10pm to get an early night.

I can honestly say I feel excited for the future and it doesn't feel like I'm starting a diet or something I know I won't follow through with. I just know it's the right life choice for me going forward and I am looking forward to the future. I will also be able to repay all the people who have been the designated driver on nights out as that will be me going forward lol.
