Getting appointments is like pulling teeth at the minute, as it's so hot people don't really go out to the high street so the shops are really quiet. The only other option is to try for a Christmas appointment but in this heat, people can't even bring themselves to think about Christmas.
Got the official email from the PDSA with the donation certificate for the money we donated from the raffle at Gateshead.
I'm going to create a folder with all the different paperwork for the Tavern CIC in it so we have a record of all the good work that has been done by the Tavern. It will also come in handy if we wish to apply for any grants or anything.
I was a bit nervous doing my first DJ gig on my own in a long time. The last few I have done and been with Andy Lee so I always felt like I had a bit of a safety net if anything went wrong with the set up etc. Luckily though it was just a normal set up on my laptop and not the glass screen they used to have. There are a few things I would defo want to change if I did there regularly. I hate the fact that the DJ set up is at the opposite of the room to the dancefloor, so it's really hard to interact with guests and see how they react to the different genres etc. Half the time if people are stood blocking your line of sight you cant even tell if people are dancing or have left the dancefloor. Also they have all the music coming through one channel which means you can't listen to one channel while one is playing,so you are kind or working blind., A few times I would play a song and it was a dance mix and not the original. I hate not feeling fully in control when I'm DJ'ing.
It was a wedding but not a busy one because theuy had gotten married abroad and this was just a small party afterward. There were only about 60 people which seemed a bit of overkill having such a big venue. Either way I still made it my mission to get the all dancing (and I did).
