I love new experiences and trying new things and Lynne always knows great places that I haven't been to before. It's her birthday tomorrow so we decided to go and watch the new Barbie movie and have something to eat in town beforehand. So for dinner we went to a place called Firehouse, it's a converted large garage with a real rustic feel and a very chilled vibe. There was a large runway running through the middle of the room that is used for funky fashion shows in the evening with a DJ pumping out loud music.
We ordered a few dishes to share and OMG they were all SOOO tasty. Several of them were veggie and sound quite simple, like the charred sweetheart cabbage, but it was really flavoursome. I had to obviously have a dessert and sadly the only one they had left was the chocolate pudding :-)
Everyman Cinema was so cool, it felt like a kind of speakeasy type bar with comfy lounge chair and you could order snacks and drinks to be brought to your seat in the cinema. We had a double comfy chair for us both with small table to put our drinks on, it was another level compared to Odean-type cinemas.
You go through. an art gallery to get to the cinema. It all felt like such a nice experience and much more grown-up. That said we couldn't resist the temptation to have a pic in the Barbie box lol. I don't go to the cinema that often but if I was to go again I would definitely go there as it feels so much more like a treat and a full-on experience. Had a lovely Clean-co Gin and tonic and a small tub of jelly sweets to take in with us and sat in comfort watching the movie.
