Fine on Friday

Had a really nice day of appointments today and managed to fit in 3 pretty much back to back. I had Pipkins in Longridge first thing in the morning, which almost felt like a therapy session as we just chatted for most of it and then did a couple of orders right at the end of the appointment. Funnily enough, I posted this morning on Facebook asking if there was a test you could take to see if you have ADHD as I am convinced I have it. The more I look into it and the more self-reflection I do the more I feel I have a lot of the characteristics. I mentioned this to Karen and she was gobsmacked because she had just asked her Doctor is she could be referred for the exact same thing. I knew from the first time I met her that she was definitely on the spectrum. Her mind is all over the place and she will completely wander off-topic and start about 6 different conversations while I am talking to her.

I had allocated myself 3 hours for the first appointment because I know how much she can talk. I'd parked outside the shop and upon returning to the car I had got a parking ticket. :-/ It was a £50 fine but if I paid it straight away it was only £25. I didn't see any point in stressing over it and just paid it as soon as I got home and then binned the ticket.

After Pipkins I moved my car over the road and went into The Millshop which is more or less facing Pipkins. She did 3 orders, 2 more card companies as well as a Giftwrap order. It turns out she is already a customer and ordered about 18 months ago. She was surprised nobody had been in touch from the company until I had mentioned Giftwrap. Just another example of how it doesn't work when a supplier is secretive and tries to avoid paying you commission on direct order. I have drafted up a blog post about this as I have been asked to submit it as an article for the Progressive Greeting Industry Magazine.

Next stop was Raffia in Clitheroe and we just did the one order for cards that we hadn't managed to fit in on my last visit. The drive over and back was so nice and I sometimes forget to just stop and appreciate the different views I get to see on my way to and from work. I don't have to make the same journey every day as some people or have to sit in an office with people who I don't like. I'm quite lucky really. I managed to capture the sun poking through a whole in the clouds which reminded me that even though I talk about my dark cloud, sometimes if you focus too much on the clouds you fail to see he beautiful rays of sunshine peeping through.

I called at mums on the way home to collect Bella and then but the time I got home it was 5:30pm and Michelle was due round at 6:30pm. So I just had time for a quick change. Luckily I had already made the Bolognaise sauce last night so I could just cook the pasta and garlic bread once Michelle arrived.

She turned up with a couple of 0% Guinness and some blackcurrant cordial for us both, since it was St Patricks Day. It was great catching up and we watched "Shotgun Wedding" after dinner which to it to 10:30pm by which time we were both knackered.

My how times have changed. I remember the days when we would just be going out on a Friday night at 10:30pm and now we are going to bed lol.
