Festive Friday

Updated: Nov 19, 2022

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

I decided while Bella was at mum's and I had the house to myself that I would get up in the loft and get all the Christmas Decs down. It wasn't so easy not having someone on the ground to catch stuff so I just did my best to throw the boxes etc onto the bed. I was going to wait until tomorrow to put the tree up with Lynne but figured since I had started I might as well get put it up. Plus Lynne is out tonight and might feel a bit delicate so didn't think it was fair to put her through Christmasing the house when she might just want a sofa day.

I brought the tree down from the loft just as the cleaners arrived and I couldn't help but think it looked like I had brought a dead body down from the loft lol.

I still need to do the garland on the banister and add a few bits to some of the pictures etc in the lounge. I wanted to put the tree up early to brighten the place up and make it feel festive earlier so I get to

enjoy the Christmas spirit without it feeling all rushed and stressful. The house already feels brighter now the tree is up, when I close the blinds at night it has nice twinkly lights and blocks out the dark nights outside.

I might even try and get my Christmas cards written out and posted this weekend to so that's another job ticked off the list. Since that is my industry it's only right that I send out my cards early to encourage people to start buying cards from shops to help my customers' businesses.

I've made arrangements to go out into Uppermill tomorrow night with Debbie as not seen her in ages. I think we are going to get some light tapas early on then maybe squeeze in a bit of Karaoke if it's not too late, as they usually have a queue. I wasn't sure if I would be up for it but I think it will probably do me good to get out and have a change of environment.

It's felt strange the house being completely empty with Bella being at mum's but I know she will be getting lots of fuss from Kirsty and Mum which is what she needed. I would have been busy sorting out the Christmas Tree and wouldn't want her to be all sad and sat 0n her own.

I can't remember how long I have been doing my daily blog now, but I set myself a goal of doing it for a year and so far I've not missed a day even if I've had to play catch up sometimes. It's been my daily journal and has helped me process my feelings and everything that has happened each day. I never really worry if nobody reads it as I am sure my life isn't that interesting. That has never been the purpose of the blog, it's just for me really as a kind of therapy.
