Everything Looks Shitter When it's Covered in Litter

Updated: Sep 3, 2022

It wasn't easy today but I still managed to get up at 5am! It was a bit darker already when I got up but I followed the 5 second rule and counted down from 5 then sprung out of bed. I think part of my night routine might be the reason I am not getting to sleep straight away. For some reason I have been leaving my blinds open, thinking it will be nice and sunny to wake up to. The problem is my brain probably isn't getting the "shut up it's bedtime start producing melanin" message because it's still bright outside. So...from tonight I'm going to start closing my blinds and setting my SAD alarm for 5am so it simulated the runrise an hour before I'm due to get up at 5. This will also mean it won't make a difference in winter that it's dark out because my body will be used to the sad clock and not dependant on the sun shining in through the blinds. Watch this space lol.

I should have been in North Wales at an appointment this morning for a Christmas appointment for the candle company I represent but my Christmas samples never arrived so I had to email and cancel.

I can't believe what I witnessed on my morning dog walk today. I was near the end of my walk and as I came along Hodge Clough there was a guy in his well-manicured garden, he picked up a piece of rubbish from his garden and threw it over his lovely metal gate onto the street. Yes, that's the ticket Mr, if it's not in your garden then it's not there. I was so angry. especially after doing a little pick at weekend to try and improve where we live. So I shouted over "it would have been better to put it in the bin really wouldn't it". He just laughed and carried on with what he was doing. He'd already gone to the trouble of picking it up and was probably a few feet away from his own wheelie bins, but instead thought as long as it's not in my garden I don't care.

He wasn't a bit of a kid he was possibly in his 60's and would probably be one of the first to blame "the young uns" for all the litter on the street. Imagine what the streets would look like if everyone dropped even kjust one piece of litter every day!

Eddie's Handy Man contact David came over to look at all the jobs I need doing. He seems really knowledgeable and is going to get together a price for the 3 days work it might take and cost up materials etc. He fitted my washing line while he was here. It's only a small task but makes a big difference when you can peg out instead of always having to put the dryer on. Line fresh washing as a nice fragrance too except towels, whoch I feel are always a bit scratchy when they havent been in the dryer.

Sad as it is I couldn't wait to peg out (technically hang out as I have no pegs yet lol).

Took the dogs out for a walk again as they sun was doing down. I just love sunsets and sunrises. The colours can't help but lift your mood.
