Don't piss up my leg and tell me it's raining!

Updated: Apr 14, 2022

Well looks like yet another excuse from Ashley! He said everything should be sorted by the close of business Monday and he would update me asap. But he did his usual thing and went radio silent as Monday came and went. Some people are so hard-faced, that they think they can piss up your leg and tell you it's raining and you will just fall for it. It's not so much the not paying back what he owes me (though that has really dropped me in it and thrown me constantly into my overdraft), it's the fact that if I didn't chase him I just wouldn't hear anything. Also if you didn't have the full money, I would at least have made some kind of payment, but Nope nothing. I guess these things are meant to be a life lesson eh.

Received my new samples from the candle company I represent and just in time as I had an appointment today to go see an own label customer. We decide to do a complete refresh and do all the new fragrances this time as there are lots of new ones. I enjoy designing the labels for own brand candles as it allows me to be creative. I think I will work on some designs for The Virtual Tavern when I get chance.

After my appointment, I took a plain white Ziggle big to my friend Angela at Stitches R Us to get it embroidered with the Tavern logo for Simon from the admin team, who's just had a new baby boy. It was mesmerising to watch it being done, it almost sent me into a trance lol. It was also nice to catch up with Angela as not seen her in a while.

Eddie popped over to drop off his hard drive. We share a database of music, mine is on my DJ laptop and his is on an external hard drive, so monthly we back it up to each other so we both have a copy. I thought t better get all the up to date music since I am going to be DJing at the Tavern do on Saturday :-/

I bought some boxes of sweets with the money that one of the taverners donated for a raffle prize, so that we have something to give out on the night. I always like to give members more than they are expecting for their money. The £5 ticket fee usually covers a welcome drink and then any profits go to a local charity, but it's always nice to have extra giveaways they are not expected. Still haven't been able to get hold of the Welsh rep for Dead Man's Fingers who I had hoped would supply the welcome drinks, so we are probably going to have to buy some bottles out of the ticket money to put behind the bar for the venue to supply the drinks. Normally I would have been on top of all this, but I am back at work now and that has to be my priority in order to get money in to pay the bills. If I didn't need the money I would gladly do The Virtual Tavern full time as there are so many things that I could do I enjoy all the creativity it allows me to explore. Sadly we all have mortgages to pay etc, (which I am hoping to have paid off in the next couple of years). It's so frustrating that money is the stumbling block for most things. Well if the postcode lottery comes knocking at my door I promise I will do a lot of good with it ;-)
