Another gorgeous day and a nice drive over to Lytham to see a customer. Clare from Room in Lytham is more like a friend than a customer (as are quite a few of my shops now). It's more like a catch-up and a chat and we also do some orders. There is no selling required as she knows exactly what will work for her shop and I just get everything out that's new for her to have a look at. I advise what collections I think would work together etc, but she has been buying for years for knows her customers.
Once I go back from Lytham I packed my case for a couple of days as I am looking after Rachels two dogs while she is at a wedding in Rome. Walter has undergone spinal surgery and so has to be on complete crate rest for about another 4 weeks. It's a very expensive operation and so if he's left to run around he can undo all the good it's done.
Rachel ran through all the things I needed to know about feeding and medication for Walter etc and then she was off to stay at her mum's as the flight meant they would be up at 3am so she didn't want to wake me.
It was really warm and quite close all night so I had the patio door open and blocked the door with part of Walter's pen so he couldn't get outside unless he was on his leads and I was with him.
I got myself all settled in my PJ's and then put my dinner in the oven. Rachel had been up early this morning making me cottage pie for my dinner bless her. It was gorgeous, just how I remember it when she used to live at cottage garden mews.
I still haven't heard back from the volunteer program in Bali so asked Layla to drop Kyle and email as she has already been speaking to him. I am keen to get our places confirmed so that we can book our flights. Once they are booked and the places on the program are confirmed, we know it is definitely happening. I have already started looking into things you need to take to Balia and places to see etc. Rachel suggested getting a flight over to Lombok as it's only 40 mins away and about £30 each way, bargain!
I'm really looking forward to having a 2 week holiday as it's been years since I went anywhere for two weeks. More importantly, I can't wait to have experiences doing something worthwhile for the marine life in Bali and feel like I've done some good. Fingers crossed if we get our dates sorted we might be able to get our flights booked this week.
Kirsty hasn't been online since this morning and was meant ot ring me back after an hour so I could sort my car out with motorbility. I've never known anyone to be so hard to get hold of or not have credit on their phine etc as much as her.
