Woke up at about 10am and started to get my stuff together ready for the flight. It's amazing how you accumulate so much stuff when you are traveling. Phil was backing up his photo's all morning to CD and then a copy to Kelly's hard drive, then another copy in a bomb-proof underground bunker (ok I lied about the last one, but he may as well). I don't think Kelly realise how many pics he had when she suggested backing them up to hers lol. If it moves he takes a photo, if it stands still for long enough he takes a photo and if he eats it he definitely takes a photo LOL. I know I know I'm guilty of the food one too but that's cos he made me lol. After we were all packed we chilled out for a bit and had some breakfast and I updated my blog so Im up to date ready for when I go it alone later. We set off to the airport at about 12:45 as Kelly only lives 15 minutes away from the airport. We said our goodbye's and Kelly said she would keep circling for 10 minutes in case we were over our baggage allowance or anything. She said we could offload stuff and she could post if home for us. We were okay on the allowance though I was 20kg and Phil was 23kg. We did have a bit of a Hoo haa though as Phil forgot to print out his USA Electronic visa number. Well I say forgot, but surely the whole point of it being electronic is just that ITS ELECTRONIC. So printing it off kinda makes it a paper visa really doesn't it? Anyway after much to do about nothing it was all sorted and we could go through to the gates. This was about 30 minutes after left Kelly so no doubt there is a trench in the ground where she has been driving round and round as Phil didn't text her or anything to tell her. Went through to the gates and got a bit to eat and some duty free. Thought it best to buy some here as it s a,lot cheaper with the exchange rate being so good/bad (not sure which, good for us but bad for them I think). So for us everything is a third of the price in Oz Dollars YAY! The flight was a bit late taking off but nothing worth writing a postcard about (and believe me I've wrote enough this trip to know what's newsworthy and whats not lol). We were sat apart on the flight so that kind of got me ready for the big bad world and weaned off Phil. Got talking to an older couple who were next to me, and who probably wished they'd never spoke after they realised I could talk the hind legs of a donkey. Anyway 62,876 words later and it was time to land, they may have even dosed off at one point I really couldn't tell, I just kept talking lol.
Once we got off Phil had to go towards the transit lounge and me through customs. It was weird after being together so long to now be saying goodbye and have to fend for ourselves. Queued up in customs and I got singled out again ( I must look dodgy). It was the usual questions; how long are you here for?, where are you staying?, when did you last brush your teeth?, what's that semtex sticking out of your bag?, Are you a member of any religious cults? just routine stuff, I'm used to it by now.
So after the internal examination, I was through into arrivals. Straight to the information counter to book a return transfer to my hostel as I'm back at the Y-hotel cos I know the area and the hostel so will feel pretty easy. Transfer picked me up after about 10 mins wait and I was at the hostel on my bed scratching my balls by 7pm. Jumped in the shower and got changed then had a wander around and got a bite to eat near the hostel. Not really took many pictures as I've been here before so there is nothing much to see. Oh I'm sharing with a German guy called Chris, I'm 303B and he's in 303C, A and D were empty when I left but who knows what will await me on my return.
Anyhoo I'm just in the cyber cafe at the moment typing this up live on air so I'm gonna save it soon just in case the connection........
