Crete - Day 8 - Home Time

Well, good things must come to an end and when I woke up this morning it was overcast and not very warm so I didn't feel so bad that we were leaving today. It would have been worse if it was glorious sunshine and really hot but I feel like I am ready to go now. I've missed Bella so much and can't wait to get home and give her tons of cuddles. The holiday has been just what I needed, nice and relaxing, chilled and plenty of rest. Great company and we have laughed from start to end. Jackie & George have been so accommodating and nothing is ever too much trouble. Andrea and Tracey have been a scream and I know we will keep in touch when we get home.

Me & Kirsty had lunch together in Akrogiali, well I had lunch and Kirsty just had a drink as she hadn't long since eaten breakfast. I just felt like stodge today with it being my last day so had a burger and chips and a protein berry smoothie. Start on the health kick when I get home cos I need to shift this timber. You notice your body more on holiday when you are having to wear swim shorts etc to go and lie on the beach like something that's washed up from the ocean and Greenpeace is waiting to hoist back in :-/

Did my packing and then had a mini siesta. The good thing is that our rooms weren't booked up straight way so Jackie let us keep the room on until we left. Our taxi was booked for 5:30pm which was earlier than we needed but there is some road works so better safe than sorry and as it happens he was about 30 mins late so at least we weren't stressing.

Just had time for a quick pic with R kid in matchy-matchy T-Shirts ( I bought her the same as me for her birthday).

Jackie, Sophie & George came down to say their goodbyes and then we were off to the airport.

The drive was pretty clear and apart from the big queue for 34 desks for Easyjet when there were loads of empty desks it was quite painless and by the time we had got a bit to eat (always need airport snacks) and done duty-free it was time to board. I got a hotdog to eat at the airport and a chicken salad sandwich and a drink called half n half which was green tea and watermelon REALLY nice.

It felt a bit sad seeing the sun going down over the runway, especially when you know that could be your everyday life if you wanted it.

No I'm not saying Tracey is a nervous flyer but she broke 3 of my fingers and there is bite mark in the headrest of the seat in front of her from take-off and landing lol. The flight flew by cos I was reading my book The Help as I hardly read any on holiday cos there was always someone around to chat with so it would have felt rude.

No queue at passport control and our bags were off pretty much soon as we came through. Or at least they would have been if we had stood at the right carousel lol. We shared a taxi home and dropped Tracey off first and then Me and Andrea got out in sholver. Who knew she only lives on the next street. I've got a new buddy to invite round for dinner. That is is she hasn't changed her number and moved house to get away from me ;-)

Have to start thinking of the next adventure now although I've got quite a lot of activities booked the next few months with Buckt
