Crete - Day 6

Me and r kid met Jackie and Sophie for cake and a coffee at around 10:30am at a lovely little place just round the corner from our studios, called Bali Coffee & Sweets. We had a nice chicken salad bagel and then I went for homemade apple pie with cream and a coffee.

The food was lovely and after I had told her how nice the apple pie was she let me know that it was vegan. She said she doesn't tell people first because they might think it will be tasteless but it was lovely. The apple had been grated so there was no uncooked bits of apple and it was dead tasty. The top was like a kind of crumble and really light.

We had a nice day on the beach and even though it was a bit overcast it was still nice and warm. I treated myself to a 0% ice-cold beer which was quite nice even though I don't drink beer at home it was lovely and refreshing.

I managed a dip in the sea a few times too, it's not as cold if you just get straight in and stay in for a bit until you are numb from the neck down, then it feels okay. Jackie had a really good towel thing that hooks onto the top of your sunbed so you are laid and a nice cotton towel to soak up the wet instead of a plastic bed. I'm going to get one when I get home as I will get plenty of use out of it. The cheap Lanzarote one I brought with me is one of them towels that just moves the water around rather than dries you. I am going to create a folder in the Tavern Amazon shop with top tips for products to take on holiday. I go on plenty so it's good to have good products to use while you are away.

We decided to have Street Food for dinner and then spend the night on the terrace playing Uno. It's always good playing cards on holiday. It took a while for us to get used to the rules, in fact, I think we pretty much made some of them up as we went along.

We had such a laugh, Adrea and Tracey are as mad as a box of frogs, we didn't stop laughing all night. It's a good job we don't have any neighbours and have the studios to ourselves. I stayed up until midnight so we could wish Kirsty a happy birthday and then I went to bed at about 12;30am as I am loving getting my 8 hours sleep while we are away. I seem to be sleeping better, I think it helps that I'm not drinking so I'm getting unbroken sleep instead of a drink coma.
