Had a lie-in and just woke up when I did rather than set an alarm. Had cereal and coffee on the terrace with mum. It was pretty grey and cold all day we pretty much spent the day on the terrace as it kept raining a bit now and then.
Oh, it's my birthday so I opened the cards that I'd brought with me. I got another experience voucher from Rachel for a massage and facial hour treatment at a spa. I love a good massage, the last few I've had when I've been away have been not the sort I like as they have been far too rough and pretty much spent the hour with their elbow in my bloody back.
It's nice to be on your hols for your birthday as you can just chill the whole day and have nothing to do if you don't want to.
Jackie & George bought me a lovely smart shirt with a grandad collar that looked perfect for my birthday meal outfit. I| really struggle to find shirts that I like that are what are classed as smart/casual. I can pic casual stuff or smart suit-type stuff but I struggle to get the in-between. Jackie said she has the same shirt in different colours so I might go and see what colours they have and get another one cos I really like it.
Tracey and Andrea tried to find a bottle of 0% fizz to get me for my birthday but couldn't find any so bought me a selection of Ice Tea's bless em. They are really refreshing and great to take on to the beach in my chilli bottle to keep them cold.
Me & Kirsty went to the little supermarket just up the steps from our accommodation, everything is so close by. We got some bread and crisps so I made us all cheese and ham toasties for lunch. Yet again I forgot the pic of the finished product but I did remember to get one when I started.
We made arrangements to meet Jackie and George at the top of the step on the road as George was going to drop everyone off at the restaurant we were eating at.
Me and Kirsty walked to the venue to get a bit of exercise and I soon realised how unfit I am. I was like an asthmatic by the time we got to the top of the hill lol.
We had a lovely evening and a really big fillet steak cooked perfectly with crispy onions and a sauce with home-cooked chips. It was absolutely gorgeous! They brought a lovely birthday cake that Jackie and George had organised. It was so light it had a mouse inside and a thin layer of cake in between. A lovely night spent with lovely people.
The one thing that is taking willpower here is that they love Raki and bring it out with every bill and love to keep you topped up. I just fill my glass up quickly with mineral water or something instead so they don't moan at me lol. Me & Kirsty walked back from the restaurant to try and let the food sink to my toes cos I was stuffed.
We popped up to Harbour Cafe which is Georges Son's bar and had a couple of drinks. I left a bit earlier than the others as I was stuffed so couldn't fit any more drink in and was knackered. I had a lovely night though and enjoyed my first day of being 51. :-)
