Crete - Day 2

Updated: May 11, 2023

I didn't get up at my usual early time today and actually stayed in bed until around 10:30am which is not like me on a weekday. It had felt like a long day yesterday though so I must have needed the rest. I had a brew and the fruit from last night for my breakfast and sat out on our shared terrace. I say shared but there is only us lot in the studios so we have it all to ourselves for a few days until one other guest arrives. God help him with the noise we make.

I was too tired to unpack yesterday so I did it all this morning and it literally took me 3 seconds with my packing cubes. I just love these for organising your suitcase and it makes it so easy to know you have everything as I put all my socks in one, boxers in another etc. So I know I have 7 of everything and don't just have loads of stuff in my case and forget what I packed.

If you go away a lot or even if you just want your one trip a year to be less stressful, grab yourself some HERE

The weather isn't the best a the moment but it's dry and it's a great place with great company so all is good. Me & Kirsty grabbed some lunch at the place underneath us. We made two cat friends who just sat with us the whole time. It might have helped that I was giving them some of the meat off my club sandwich :-) They brought us a plate of fruit and a bottle of Raki with the bill. I ate the fruit and Kirsty polished off the Raki (standard lol).

After lunch, we jumped on the 'train' which does a circle trip around the village and Jackie jumped on one stop up the hill. It was a nice was to get about and see everything.

We went up to the top then stopped off at a bar for a drink and a little snacklet. I had a smoothie made with Brocolli, spinach, Carrot, apple, banana and ginger. It was really nice and you couldn't taste the veg. The lady brought over a small shot for us all with the bill and it killed me not to have one but I stayed strong lol.

After our trip out George picked us up and took us up to their house. They've had it built in the hills and it's absolutely gorgeous. Jackie was the hostess with the mostess and wouldn't sit down for a minute despite being in agony with her back. She was constantly up and down making sure we had drinks, snacks. She did us all shots with frothy cream on top and did me one made with coffee instead bless her.

George dropped us all off at the studios and we sat out on the terrace for a bit and we nipped down to the Street Food place just round the corner and got chicken Gyros. They are lovely it's like a chicken kebab on a nann bread with salad tzatziki and chips in it. I forgot to take a bloody pic so I just rolled up Andreas sunhat instead lol.

After I'd been fed and watered I hit the sack and left the hardcore drinkers to it lol. I like my sleep too much so I can wake up fresh.
